Summary: Any potential customers thinking that they are getting a bargain - please beware. This product does not have a list price of $599. it is on the Illy website for a list price of $295. So either you are being deliberatley misled or the vendor is quoting a very old list price. If it's the latter and they are that out of date with their admin it makes you wonder how good they will be on other aspects of customer service. At best, quoting an old list price is inexcusable.
Good espresso but continually breaks, not worth the price

Summary: I was very disappointed that after paying $495 for this machine it broke just 10 months later. When the decalcification light came on I followed the instructions and the machine wouldn't decalcify and stopped functioning. I returned it to the manufacturer for a warranty exchange and received a new machine. The new machine did the exact same thing the first time I ran the decalcification cycle.
Summary: I have bought four FrancisFrancis machines and loved them. (Two for gifts). Recently two of them have had problems. I brought them to our repairman (specializing in espresso machines). He needed, for one machine, a gasket. THREE TIMES they sent the wrong gasket. Two months later - still no gasket. I then wrote them three times - and received a standard email saying that I could ship the machine to one of their authorized repair places.
Summary: This is my second Francis Francis X7 - the first one I returned due to leaking (it was leaking immediately when I first used it). The second one did not even make it a full year before it started to leak above the brew head (where it bolts to the machine). illy customer service has been less than responsive. I called them about the first machine and about a reset issues I had after cleaning the second machine.
Summary: Seriously, with very little searching this product is available brand new for £199.00 as a standard price. This 'discount' is just a rip off, thought Amazon was better than that, very disappointed. Product itself however is very good!!
Summary: This machine makes lovely coffee but having just passed the one year warranty it has broken - when switched off (but plugged in) it continues to pump water out - i..e switching off has no effect. It's a shame because the coffee it made was so nice, but I want a machine that's going to last more than a year.
Summary: before purchasing this think about what type of coffee you want. If you want black pure espresso then I am sure you will love it, providing you don't mind having to send away for pods (couldn't find in any supermarkets) if you plan to make just one cappuccino or latte then you might just be ok. If however, you are a family or entertain and plan to make more than one be prepared to have to wait at least 20 mins between frothing each latte.
Summary: This product is just plain bad - the capsules, while expensive, exist with a wide variety - but the machine itself lacks the basic quality one would expect from a coffee maker: - Steam pipe is very bad - weak - slow - fragile. - The espresso sometimes pours perfectly, but often drips extra water out. either being the capsules or the machine to blame, it's the same as it's impossible to get alternative capsule..
Summary: Don't be fooled by the high quality Illi coffee product. The italians have though of them selves only and noone else. It's only good for making espresso. Yes, it makes the best espresso I've ever tasted, unfortunately I don't drink espresso. I drink cappuccino. It takes 3 minutes to turn on and have an espresso. However after you've made the espresso, you have to wait another 3-5 minutes for the steamer button to turn on.
