Summary: For what its worth to all.I am going to purchase the Dualit and I found a very cheap way to keep the baskets clear .I use "the round tea bags " I make a large mug of tea each day ,using two tea bags in a tea pot .I empty the tea from the bags into the pot and then I use the tamper to cut around the empty tea bags and I have four filters.AS I do not have any trouble with my baskets I just use 1 filter on top of the coffee in the basket and tamp down .It keeps the shower...
Summary: Quite impressed with this coffee maker though I have mainly used the pods. The plastic part that holds the pods did break however but I don't have any problem with this as I trust amazon to sort this. I have only made one cup of coffee using the filters and ground coffee but it works fine. I have still to master frothy milk but practice makes perfect. Don't know what I did before having this machine.
Summary: Great machine which produces much better espresso, or Americano, than my previous Krups. One big advantage is that there is room to get a reasonable mug under the brewhead, so you can produce an Americano by letting it run until you have enough in the mug. The only downside so far is that it is very susceptible to leaks around the brewhead if you are not scrupulous with cleaning coffee off the rim before fitting to the machine.
Summary: This replaced a Gaggia that had done the job for many years. Dualit is easy to use and produces hot coffee - if you pass hot water through the 'basket' first. Paper filters are an extra chore, but speed and consistency of delivery are excellent so far. It delivers a significant amount of coffee froth (Crema) every time and the milk frother works well. I haven't tried coffee pods yet; using Whittard Santos & Java beans and a separate Dualit grinder for excellent coffee.
Summary: This is a very handsome machine, well made and solid; unlike my 3 previous espresso machines it has a professional look about it. The 2 on-off buttons and the main knob are all solid and are positive in action - nothing flimsy or plasticy about them at all, as I have found on previous machines; also, they are on the front - not round the side where you might forget to turn them off.
Summary: This is my second dualit - love the dual functionality of it - have learnt not to use such finely ground expresso and I religiously use the filters ... Last one lasted 5 years but took a lot of abuse - didn't use filters for 2 years, persevered with expresso ground coffee and didn't de-scale - lesson learnt !
Summary: I have had similar machines years ago but bought this one for the 3 in 1 features. It makes great espressos and is quick to heat up and easy to clean. "Real" coffee is a bit of a faf, but the results are more than worth it. I have tried the machine with ESE pods, for quickness, and they make a great cup with less hassle. Milk frother works a treat. I can get a small mug under the dispenser for a larger coffee.
