Run away! These are pieces of junk machines!
3 October 2013
Summary: We used this machine in Germany for 10 years... The Germany made product was great! The US spec is terrible! We purchased two when we moved back to the states, one for home and one for my husband's office. Neither one of them worked! We sent one back to the company 4 weeks ago and have not heard anything... We are getting ready to send the second one back tomorrow. They have stopped selling their product in stores, you can only order online.
Summary: I've tried this machine but have to return it back to the store. Here are two of my major complains: 1. You have to stay by the machine while it makes the coffee - it doesn't stop automatically - you need to pull the switch back. 2. The selection of coffees they offer for this maker is very limited comparing to other brands or makes. No organic choices at all. 3. It's noisier than other machines too.
Summary: i bought this for my daughter used at a resale store. i tried it and was very pleased with the results. i am very picky about my coffee, not to be mistaken for fancy, i just like good basic coffee with crema on top and i am used to the european super automatic machines which my daughter cannot afford, and this dolce gusto produces coffee very close to that.
Summary: This was our first coffee maker of this type. It works perfectly each and every time no matter what type of beverage you make. We stopped using it though when there was no place locally to buy the coffee. Bed Bath and Beyond no longer sells this machine, and it can only be found on line. There is a smaller version for sale at Ralph's supermarket. I asked the manager if they sell the coffee. The answer is no.
Summary: I recently acquired the DG Melody II machine. It is easy to set up. The machine feels a bit plastic, but not flimsy. So far, I have tried Americano and Cappuccino, and they are amazingly good and balanced. They taste like what you buy from coffee shops. Different drinks are easy to make and fast to produce also. The temperature of the coffee coming out from the machine is quite hot, about 184 F. Some reviewers complained about not being hot enough.
Summary: If u can deal with the rate of the price they'd increased on their capsules and wouldn't mind having no choice to use other brands of capsules, it would be fine. I have it for a year, and tasted most of the flavors, only few of them I really liked such as Latte Macchiato, Cafe Lungo and Dark Roast. My kids not even like their Chococino, and my wife, a Mocha lover, not even finish a single box and it's still sitting in my pantry for a year.

Summary: After reading the rave reviews for this product, I decided to give it a try to save money and time in my morning routine of getting coffee drinks at starbucks, dunkin donuts, etc. A quick breakdown of the device from over a dozen uses of the machine: Pros -makes drinks fast -easy to assemble -aesthetically pleasing (good-looking) -compact, occupies minimal space Cons -drinks are watery -drinks require multiple capsules -drinks don't have full flavor While ergonomically,...
Summary: My husband and I received this as a gift. We are coffee drinkers, so this definately made our day. This coffee maker is very easy to use and easy to clean. The coffee is always piping hot. You can make a cup in about 30 seconds! I like being able to make different varieties of drinks that I couldn't do before. Instructions for making the different drinks are super easy. The coffee, hot chocolate, cappuccinos, and machiatos are all good.
Summary: I got this as a Christmas gift for my wife. So far we've only tried the latte macciato and the hot chocolate (cocochino) flavors but she likes both of them. The machine is easy enough to use, although an auto shut off option may be worth the extra money (the creativa model has this option). As it is you have to decide when to turn off the machine so you have that control over the strength of the coffee but its hard to get the reccommended amount.
