Summary: We have had our Gran Dama for over 5 years now and has held up very well under daily use. I use it every day for a double large cup of coffee and on weekends we usually make Cappuccino. First and foremost, I give very high marks coffee output. I used Lavazza super crema beans and get a rich dark brew using the double tall cup setting which gives about a 3/4 fill level to 12 OZ coffee mugs and a nice tan crema floats on the top. The temp is just shy of hot.
Summary: I own this model and before i shelled out a few grand for it i of course came to amazon to read all the reviews. the one thing I kept reading about was the jamming that was occuring with others who own this macheine and the milk container sticking or jamming.. there is nothing wrong with the unit... yes over time the milk container will start to stick and become hard to insert and hard to remove.. What i'm going to now try and explain, should fix this issue...
Summary: I researched fully automatic espresso machines for over 6 months, always coming back to the Delonghi products. I read the good, the bad and the ugly of all of them, watched videos ect.... As we continued to drain our bank account with "take out, expensive, lattes and cappucino's" we bit the bullet and purchased the Delonghi Gran Dama. WOW is all I can say... We use it every day.
Summary: great machine.. coffee tastes amazing.. and I am very picky! I was concerned about the milk frothing system,,,main reason I got this machine! But the milk froths perfectly EVERY time! I am keeping the milk container ( without the top) in the fridge . Always using cold, skim milk.. and remember to set the marker in position 2. Works like a charm. I am very happy. Easy to clean , looks very good in my kitchen.
Summary: I had a Jura Capresso F9 for a year before it went bad - the company replaced it with a refurbished machine. I had upgraded to the Jura from a Saeco which was an absolute nightmare. Ultimately I enjoyed my Jura but hated that none of the parts were user-serviceable and I had to rely onthe cleaning tablets to ensure that the machine was 'clean'.
Summary: I have owned a run of the mill krups coffee maker forever. It refused to die. I could not imagine spending thousands for a coffee machine but my wife really wanted to get me something special for father's day. I did a fairly compulsive online review but it was not until I saw the Grand Dama up close and personal that I made up my mind. It's a beautiful piece of kitchen sculpture. Now came the test, would it work?
Summary: I purchased this machine around 6 months ago, and absolutely LOVE IT! I was concerned that I would buy an espresso maker and that the lattes would not be of the same quality as I buy from Starbucks, but they are! I can not rave about this machine enough. It is the best appliance I have ever purchased without a doubt. LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!!
Summary: I am a bit of a coffee snob and always wanted a high powered espresso machine, but my wife was put-off by the complexity of the commercial machines. We bought the Gran Dama because it is so automatic that making great latte and cappuccino is now a breeze for her and I love the real espresso taste. The instructional DVD and intuitive programming got us off to a fast start. Watching the DVD a couple of times before plugging in machine helps set-up go smoothly.
Summary: I had to grit my teeth to spend this much on a an Espresso machine but it has been worth every penny. I have only been using it for a couple of weeks so I can't comment on how reliable it is but my machine is working perfectly. It took a little experimentation to find the right coffee to meet my expectations. I lived in Italy and want something that comes close to my favorite Pasticerria coffee.
