Summary: I've had my Gran Dama about 4 years now. The lattes it produces aren't as good as my 6 year old Starbucks Barista I bought for $400. I've had to replace the LCD screen when it was 2 years old. Out of warranty of course. There aren't any repair shops in Arizona, so we had to ship it to California. It took 3 months to get it back, parts were on backorder from DeLonghi.
Summary: I have had this espresso machine for almost three years. It was a splurge for my family, which is why I'm disappointed to report that owning this machine hasn't been a great experience. The good: The Gran Dama gets its three stars for making good, strong coffee (or weak, if you prefer). Plain espresso, lattes, and cappuccinos are all good. Over the past three years I've eliminated trips to coffee shops completely, and we've recouped the cost of the machine.
Summary: Have had this machine a little over a year. At the one year mark it stopped frothing milk. Seems that the pump isn't sucking up the milk from container. We sent it in for service(all under warranty) and suffered as we waited for machine to return which took about two weeks. Machine was fixed and worked great for about 4 weeks. Now again same problem,won't take up the milk from container. No frothed milk.
Summary: We've had this machine for 2 1/2 years. Never a problem with the mechanical parts of the machine, it has flawlessly made us espresso, cappuccino, etc nearly every day. Other reviews have well described the positives of this machine. We've had three issues: - milk pitcher hard to plug in. This happened for a couple of months, and only when the pitcher is cold. Delonghi service sent new gaskets free (under warrantly), these did not correct the issue.
Summary: If I had my chance over I would not buy this machine. I like a mug of coffee not a cup. Although it says adjustable forget it because regardless of how much coffee you want lets say in a mug of Cappacino it will cut of automatically at its own max and this is not adjustable. Also back up from Delonghi help centre is as good as useless. Good quality machine but does not do the job for me.
Summary: We bought our Prima Donna 10 weeks ago. We read the reviews before buying and even though the odd machine had gone wrong we thought that we would be lucky and hopefully have no problems. We were wrong. After approx eight weeks we had a 'General Alarm' notification on the screen and the machine died. DeLonghi were good. Within 4 days they picked the machine up and sent it for repair.
Summary: Makes Great Expresso but the frothed milk system produces only warm milk, So if you make cappacino or Latte etc it will not be hot and if you dont drink it immediatly it will be only luke warm. Great idea and design but the milk sysyem doas not really work. Rang Dolongi and they said thats just the way it is and the representative mentioned others had complained also. So sadly I am returning the unit for refund and will look at buying somthing that works.
Summary: Ich habe die DeLonghi jetzt ein paar Monate. Der Kaffee ist ganz OK, allerdings ist er geschmacklich schlechter als bei einem vergleichbaren Gerät einer Freundin bei gleichem Kaffee und gleicher Einstellung zur Stärke. Sie holt den Geschmack des Kaffee nicht optimal heraus. Was aber gar nicht gut ist, ist das der Kaffee wenn man Ihn mit Milch trinkt zu kalt ist.
