Summary: BRAVO for AMAZON! I ordered the product and got it in Hungary in 36 hours. The machine I know from before, my friend has one. It's an excellent product by De'Longhi. Tried it already and very happy to have it at home.
Summary: I have had my ESAM5400 for about 2 years now. It has been used very frequently, in fact it has made about 5000 coffees (you can get this info from the machine's own counter) in that time, and it has never missed a beat. It replaced a slightly more expensive Gaggia bean to cup machine which was pretty good but always made me feel that it was about to fail. In fact we had 5 years out of it, but the DeLonghi just feels so much more reliable.
Summary: This machine is great, when it works! It has been back three times in the 18 months we have had it. It has been descaled regularly (which is very important by the way) , but has spent nearly 6 weeks of that in service centre. The milk has never come out warm- which is ok for me as I drink my coffee quite fast, but for many I could see this as an issue. The main fault seems to be the internal pumps and couplings from what the service care booklet says.
Summary: Machine worked great for about six months. Than it began intermittently leaking coffee from the diffuser into the drip tray. Leaking has gradually worsened. Contacted Delonghi customer service. They indicated surprise that this model did that; they were aware that the "magnifica" models did this but not the perfecta. They also indicated a design modification had been implemented to rectify this problem but offered me no solution.
Steamer fault means this one may have to be overlooked

Summary: I don't like to condemn a machine just because mine failed - but for the third time in under a year I am sending it back - the fault is the steamer - or lack of steam. Kenwood have been sympathetic and helpful (after their subcontracted repair people sent the machine back unfixed - and then were rude when I asked why) but this is a review of this machine. After 4 months (max 2-3 coffees a day) the steamer just didn't produce enough to froth the milk.
Summary: The Delongi Perfecta Bean to Cup is one of the best buys I have made in a very long time!! Although it's a bit pricy, once you have that first coffee that has just been freshly grounded, the price is no issue any more. Easy to clean, look very stylish and I love the aroma of coffee it leave in my house when I put fresh beans in the machine. I never use to be a coffee snob until NOW!!
