Summary: Ordered this for a present for my son whilst l was visiting the USA and was under the impression it came with 40 pods, that is why l hose this one. Only the holder arrived so my son now has to order pods for it. The description is a little vague and it would be better if it said no coffee pods come with it as the machine is no use without the pods. He said it is a lovely looking machine but unable to use it until pods arrive.
Summary: The taste is great and the product is easy to use. The beverages are just not hot enough. Since they aren't really hot to begin with they cool down to room temperature very quickly. That means you have to drink them quickly. I would prefer not to have to drink them so quickly.
Summary: I would have given it a 5 star rating if it was not for below. I have had my Lattissima for about 7 months now. I love the drinks it makes. About 1 month ago, the milk started not frothing well. This got worse until it didn't froth at all. I cleaned and descaled it twice. This did not help, so I called customer service who said it was the milk frother which is in the black lid you see in the picture on top of the milk container. They said I needed to buy a new lid.
Summary: Quite frankly I am perplexed and not sure if I like the Latissima Plus or not. First the positives. First, the process is fully automated, though it helps to follow the instructions as per manual to avoid initial frustrations. The entire process is simple. Just insert the pod and press one of the four buttons to get your drink. The machine does the rest. Second, there is an ability to customize your drinks.
Summary: The flavor was excellent and it was great that you cld use your own milk unlike other pod machines. The problem is that it's not hot enough. I considered keeping it and just heating it in the microwave each time but that is unacceptable for a $300+ machine.
Your at home barista with none of the made up words
7 November 2012
Excerpt: This automatic barista is a great way for beginners or sleepy early risers to get a latte without having steamed milk shooting everywhere and bitter espresso dripping out for a minute. The system is pretty foolproof and the ability to create americanos, espressos, macchiatos, lattes and cappuccinos with a push of a button is awesome.
Excerpt: The idea of being able to make your own cappuccino at home is really appealing. The look of the machine is very sleek, but the appliance takes patience. I found myself reaching for the directions often, and the resulting cappuccino was too milky for my taste. Too much milk to coffee ratio. It makes espresso too - and that tastes better...but again, I found it to be not entirely intuitive.
