Good for the occasional espresso. Not for cappuccino or everyday.

Chris McInnis, Amazon
9 September 2014
  • Summary: I really wanted to like this machine. The coffee is very good and the crema of the espresso is outstanding. The two complaints I have are this: when making a cappuccino, the frother inserts barely luke warm milk into the drink. The result is a luke warm cup of coffee. I recently sent this back because I thought it was defective, however, the second unit is the same. After calling customer service, I was told that this is normal temp for a cappuccino.

Loved it until descaling

J. Griffiths, Amazon
17 February 2014
  • Summary: After the unit informed me that it needed to be put through the descaling process, I purchased the descaling kit from the Nespresso website. I followed the instructions for descaling and rinsing. My next espresso literally reeked of the nasty descaling solution (the one it warns not to ingest or let it touch your skin or eyes).

Easy it's always better !!

  • Summary: Although this coffee maker has rave reviews, I find the coffee too weak for my liking. I also prefer a fuller cup of coffee with less foam. I love cappuccino & espresso & this machine looked & sounded like a perfect item for me. I do know that it is my opinion & the machine does what it's supposed to. I personally like the old fashioned cappuccino/espresso maker much, much better. I get to make it the way I like it even though it requires more work I think it's worth it.

Not hot, but lukewarm

Eduard Fayfman, Amazon
28 December 2012
  • Summary: The selection type is basically - one type. Either big or small cup, either with the milk or without the milk. What was the most disappointed is that the coffee is not hot, it's rather warm or with milk lukewarm, but not hot at all.

Too complicated for me

ms1708, Viewpoints

  • Excerpt: I have to say, I'm not one for reading instructions, but I'm usually able to figure appliances out pretty easily. This Lattissima Espresso Machine is definitely challenging. I only used it once because I know I wouldn't be able to figure it out myself! The steamed milk feature is nice, but definitely not sensible for an office. I tried to make a strong cappuccino, and all I ended up with was something that tasted like lukewarm/cold steamed milk. No coffee flavor!

Poor milk frother

Christine Cooke, Amazon
5 May 2014
  • Summary: The coffee making part of the machine is great but the milk frothing unit is incredibly fragile and after only a few weeks use, becomes blocked to the point where milk is spurting out erratically. The first time, I spent hours on the phone with Nespresso support and the reason was put down to either a faulty milk unit, or the family not following the cleaning instructions properly.

Purchased my first machine first week of january 2013, I am now on my second, the pump for milk broke, 30 mile round trip to exchange it no problem with exchange but was told not the first to come back. Have lost faith really hence only two stars but do hope this one lasts longer than six weeks.

Can't recommend this machine

pilatesforlife, Amazon
16 June 2012
  • Summary: We bought this as a replacement for a Magimix M200 Nespresso which sprung a leak after six years. We opted for the Lattissima because it was the only model available that heats and froths milk with steam, which is what we are used to. We were not keen on the idea of an aeroccino. We have always used only ristretto capsules and continued to do so with the Lattissima. Similarly, we used the same cappuccino and espresso cups.
