The CREMA of the CROP....... with perfect microfoam if you take it slow
3 weeks ago
Summary: I bought this on sale at Macys with the clear intention of taking my time and upgrading to a much finer machine. Now that I have used it for several weeks I find that it is a tremendous bargain for the $86 or so I paid. I have a Cuisinart Burr Grinder that is on it's last legs and I set the grind to it's finest setting. From the first pull the espresso had a decent head of crema and the frother worked well leaving a topping of microfoam in my frothing pitcher.
Summary: This is an improvement over my previous De'Longhi espresso maker - large water well which removes to refilll, two drip spouts, and two sizes for coffee depending on whether you are using pods or grounds. I highly recommend this espressor maker. It looks like a much higher priced unit.
Summary: Good coffee machine! De'Longhi have a good service. We ordered it on Wednesday and received it on Saturday, At first, the gasket for the water tank was missing. We contacted De'Longhi and they sent us not only the missing gasket but the whole tank which is around! Very serious! The machine work fine. The coffee is good and the steamer is doing a good job for the Cappuccino. Go for it!
Summary: I've been an avid coffee drinker for decades. Recently I eliminated dairy from my diet, so Half and Half is no longer my morning friend. A good cup of coffee has been hard to come by ever since. In an effort to put some oomph back into my mornings, I decided to buy a new Espresso maker. My old Krups had been put away for a while. When I cleaned it before using it again, I discovered it had developed a bad case of the pits.
Summary: We bought one of these 3 years ago and it is going strong. We use it for multiple rounds of morning espresso on weekends and days off. It functions just as it did when new, and seems to only require an annual de-scaling (I run white vinegar through it). We do not steam much milk, but prefer the steam wand without the little black frothing attachment, so we unscrewed it and it is floating around in a kitchen drawer if we ever want to put it back on...no biggie.
