Summary: I read many negative reviews including repeated descriptions of the coffee not flowing into the carafe but overflowing. I read one that addressed this - "...assemble it correctly" was his response. In spite of all the negative reviews, we bought one.
Summary: In fact, it works perfectly. I followed the directions, and even though there may be some defective ones out there, mine worked just fine. The coffee's taste was what I was worried about, and it tastes 100%.
Summary: After trying a different DeLonghi model and not being pleased (the thermal pot did not keep the coffee warm and it spilled coffee on the counters while brewing), we tried this model at my sister-in-law's request (she purchased this model about 8 months ago) and we LOVE it!
Summary: I'll have to say that after reading all the negative reviews I was really skeptical when I received this coffee maker as a gift. I usually over-research items like this prior to purchase and based on the reviews I would probably never have purchased one for myself.
Summary: This coffee pot is great! It looks great, the coffee it brews tastes great and it POURS great!!!!!! Before you pour a cup, you have to unscrew the lid by half a turn. If you are a troglodyte who feels the need to turn the entire pot upside down in order to pour yourself a cup of coffee, then yes,...
Summary: I bought this coffeemaker from Starbucks, believing that if they recommend it, it must be great. Ultimately they were vindicated. My unit initially exhibited all of the problems others have written about: overflows and an inability to pour without spills, then later on another very serious problem.
Summary: I don't know if I have a good 'copy' of this maker or if I am just using it properly, but mine has exhibited no symptoms like some others on here mention in their reviews. It has a large capacity and a thermos-style carafe, MUCH better than a glass or plastic container.
Summary: Finally a coffeemaker that looks good sitting on the limited counter space. No problems of dripping spout when following the natural weight/balance to the handle. If you tip the carafe further than it wants then it dribbles. The removable water chamber for cleaning is fantastic. Happy overall.
Summary: I wanted to take the time to write a review on the Delonghi DCM485 after purchasing it from Starbucks, during their march 2006 sale.I currently own a Starbucks Barista 12 cup thermal pot brewer now,and it brews a great cup of coffee.
Summary: I am an employee at a Starbucks in Wisconsin and have been an avid coffee lover for as long as I can remember. I recently purchased this model from DeLonghi, and I am very impressed. Several reviews of this machine have noted its tendency to dribble or spill out when pouring. This is a half-truth.
