Summary: The carafe drips when poring, the flow stop lever does not stop the coffee flow while brewing nor does the carafe fully engage the flow lever while brewing... That would mean coffee and grounds all over the counter, floor and anything else that's in the way. If you want to stand over the machine while brewing and be very careful how you poor coffee from the pot, the carafe is actually quite good quality.
Summary: Ordered first coffee maker, worked fine, no water filter. Ordered second and was sent a seperate mailing with a water filter. Second machine smashed to pieces, sent pictures, and received third machine. First machine is alright as long as you follow each step exactly. No shortcuts or coffee everywhere but in your cup. Third machine pieces broked off base, and not in shipping box, and stop bre broken.
Summary: I have been a Bunn coffee maker person , most of my life, but this coffee maker is a great one. I especially like the separate water container you just slip into the machine..no more pouring! Brews any strength you prefer, haven't tried the set feature yet, but all in all, I'd suggest this coffee maker to a friend.
Summary: The coffee pot makes delicious coffee. I don't even like my cheaper coffee drip makers anymore. But, it is a learning curve trying to seat the pot so that the counter does not become wet with overflowing water and grounds. We have finally decided to not use the pause button - which has been part of the problem. So, download the manual and study it first...and brew some water for awhile until you make sure you know how to seat the pot.
Summary: Coffee maker works good but permanent filter has a habit of clogging making it overflow. Not a good thing when setting the timer. You can wake up in the morning expecting a good cup of coffee only to find a mess.
Summary: I was a bit worried buying the DCM485 after reading so many poor reviews but now think the reviews are poor not the coffee maker. I have not had mine for more than a month but using it twice a day, I have not seen any issues as pouring the carafe or having overflow shutoff valve problems. The top of the carafe has two setting positions marked with arrows, one for brew mode (closed down)and the second for puring mode(open spout).
Summary: The one we got was reconditioned or re-boxed or whatever, and it turned out to be defective and was scrapped. We had it for less than a week. It's presence on the counter is BIG. We called it the coffee monster. Other than that, I liked the way it looked....till I grew to hate it. What we liked about it, is that is has a separate water reservior that you can remove easily and carry it to the sink to fill it, and that it has a cone filter. A.
Summary: Love the way the water tank comes out to fill.Putting water in other coffee makers was a pain-trying to get water in without spilling all over the place.Makes good coffee, and yes I admit I tried to pour coffee out of the carafe the first time. I made a mess. Then decided to really look at it and read instructions. After that we had no problem pouring coffee.Had some problems with the first one I bought-I called him and he couldn't have been nicer.
Summary: I love the design of this coffee maker. I bought it to use for work and three of us share it. Everyone loves the coffee it makes. We also love the removable water tank. It makes it easy to fill. I have only two small complaints, which would not discourage me from buying it. The first complaint is that if the carafe is not placed exactly straight under the machine, the coffee will back up and spill over.
