Summary: In my time as a black cab driver I tried every coffee place imaginable in London. Over the last few years I have been spoilt for choice and I've had some great coffee. So having retired early I wanted a machine to match the amount of time I would have to spend at home. Not really having the dosh for the real big guns, I read the reviews and plumped for this Delonghi Treviso at £39.99 and the Delonghi KG79 burr coffee grinder at £29.99.
Summary: ive owned this coffee machine for a year now. it does heat up quicker than its states in the instruction manual. which is a good thing. the only thing worth mentioning, is that when heating up the milk, rather a lot of water enters the cup before the steam. to get around this i allow the water to run into an empty cup until steam appears before heating the milk, which takes only seconds. but still gets the thumbs up from me, as its makes a very nice cuppa coffee.
Summary: We've had this a little while now, and it's proving to be an excellent buy! Easy to use, great espresso and milk frother in one. It takes a few cups to get the technique of making the perfect cappuccino, but I had it going in less time than I expected. I'm now making coffee better than my favourite coffee shop, with the beans I like, plus conveniently, and of course great value at 48 quid. It's certainly paid for itself already twice over. Highly recommended.
Summary: So there was the espresso machine I had just bought, and there, about to use it, was someone who did not have a clue about getting the best from it: me! I had to try 5 different coffees before finding the one I like and can use effectively. Then the amount of coffee to use is a question of personal taste, and the amount of pressure you use to bed the coffee down in the filter is also going to be judged by the results, according to your personal taste.
Summary: Just bought this product from a well known cookware shop based in the lakes (with a lifetime guarantee) Having just used the product a few times I must say how impressed I already am by the versatility of the product. This machine will produce a nice crema when used with Lavazza espresso which we use. The milk frother is very powerful and creates a very frothy mix. The unit although is recommended to heat up for 30 mins can be used after around 5 with good results.
Excerpt: I bought this from amazon this week arrived in 2 days free delivery and also got the grinder free, BARGAIN!!!!. Made latte first day and every day since and I am please with the results. Upside - easy to use - follow easy instructions Downside - you have to hold onto the cups or they shake and could fall off the machine - but as it is so cheap it doesnt take much to hold on to the cups for 30 seconds.
Excerpt: I am a fully trained barista and have been for 3 years so deal with top of the range industrial machines all the time. For a domestic machine this is the best i have had or used! Steam pressure is great all the time and the espresso runs through great with lovely crema. It doesnt take long in comparison to others to fully heat up!I have had no problems with it in the year i have had it.
Excerpt: I surprise myself by writing a glowing review on the day the thing has broken. I had only ever thought of it as my great new espresso machine. Neither had I realized the time that had gone by. Usage Statistics and Inadvertent Destruct-Testing I have been making an average of 11 double espressos per week. Always when I have been tired and clumsy. I have forgotten to top up the reservoir at least once every six weeks.
Excerpt: The cup/s vibrate when the machine is working so you have to hold the cup while it operates. You have to wait 30 minutes for the machine to warm up - or - make phantom cups of coffee...the operating manual is terrible t follow...the coffee is okay if you can be bothered with the hastle..other machines that friends have take minutes to warm up. And the noise is deafening from the pump. Wouldnt advise buying.
Excerpt: I have owned Gaggia and Krups espresso machines in the past and this one compares favourably, but at a relatively lower price. It actually fires up faster than the Gaggia one! Only one criticism: there is not enough space under the spouts to fit any containers deeper than espresso cups and same goes for the milk frother.
