Update on earlier review

  • Summary: Here is the real biggie: on this product page there is a 5 year parts and labor warranty. But in the manual that came with the product: 1 year, or I can pay extra to add 2 more years. Still a HUGE difference from the Newegg page that states 5 years included in purchase.
  • Pros: Still functioning well 10 months later, 2-3 uses per day, so somewhere between 600 and 900 lattes. I use only distilled water so there should be no issue with minerals building up.
  • Cons: Steam control handle is plastic and the shaft on the valve is plastic, with molded splines on each. Handle just broke, so we'll see how the warranty process works. Fancy Cup

Stanley C., Newegg

  • Summary: Do not know why this machine only has a one year warranty while others are five years, but will hope for the best on durability. I can not imagine a higher priced machine producing a better cup.
  • Pros: Works as advertised, good cup of coffee Easy to clean Good price for automatic machine
  • Cons: Question on warranty, mine came out of the box only with a one year warranty not five years? Slow recovery after using steaming wand, but it only has one small boiler at 110v.

  • Summary: Special sale price $350 and free shipping was hard to beat. Anything better was $700 and up. 5-year warranty pushed me over the edge to get this. It's a major upgrade from my old machine. The kids think it's cool - like a little robot coffee maker. Am using distilled water to avoid scaling.
  • Pros: * Makes good espresso with nice crema. I set the volume at 1/2, coffee amount at max and grind 2-3 notches from finest, using my own blend of beans from a local roaster (Salt Lake Roasting Company) * heats up quickly * For $350 it can't be beat (how can they do something this complex for that pri...
  • Cons: *takes up a fair amount of counter space * mostly plastic, but what do you expect for the price? At least it's nice plastic. * foaming wand puts too much air in the milk for a latte, but if you cover the air hole on the rear of the wand it's just about right. * this AM it reported "low water", wh...
