Great machine - when it works

MNMom1, Costco
25 January 2013
  • Summary: I've had the same problem that other reviewers have mentioned. It's great while it works but over time will start brewing partial cups, even after descaling. I'm on my second Cuisinart (after 2 Keurigs). The only reason I keep getting them is that Costco's return policy is so great that I get a new one each time the old breaks down. Cuisinart offers a 3 year warranty, but you have to pay to ship the new one and ship the old one back on your dime, which is another $30ish.

Doesn't work for the $$ it costs

smlatme, coffeemakers.com
8 January 2013
  • Summary: Sometimes it doesn't make coffee at all. Other times it makes a 1/2 cup and sometimes we have to turn it off and keep turning off and on to get it to work at all. Tried to find place for troubleshooting and how to clean can't find one.
  • Pros: Multiple Settings
  • Cons: Temp Is Not Hot Enough

The entire Keurig System is Expensive

PamfromPittsburgh, Costco
18 October 2012
  • Summary: I have had the Cuisinart K-Cup System for about 2 years. We have been having problems for over a year. I have never tried to get it repaired nor have I tried to return it. This is a very expensive beverage system but the convenience is worth it if it would work properly. We have had various issues as follows: We have had water outflow issues....(either entirely too slow or the chosen cups size is not accurate). I have tried the recommended cleaning tips....
  • Pros: hooked on this concept. convenient.
  • Cons: too expensive for the machine quality.

Great convenience & features. Coffee not as good as regular drip brewing

njpackrat, Ebay
5 October 2012
  • Summary: I'm a bit of a coffee nut but can allow myself only 1 "Good" cup of coffee a day and this is my 1st buying experience of a Keurig style coffee maker. I love the convienence of brewing 1 cup & the various size settings & programing features of the cuisinart are great. Plus a much better price deal through e-bay.

Nice machine, but WEAK coffee

retromom, Costco
26 July 2012
  • Summary: I've only had my machine for 6 days, but was not satisfied with the coffee that came with my unit. So, I went and bought my own coffee (organic, and organic decaf), and unfortunately, the coffee is still weak. I am used to my Senseo which delivers a frothy, hot, strong cup of Java, but unfortunately, the pods are getting harder to find in my local grocers, not to mention the fact, they do not offer organic coffee.
  • Pros: makes a hot cup of water for hot choc/tea. nice looking
  • Cons: makes a very weak cup of coffee unless it's a 4 oz kind of large compared to my senseo.

Built to fail.

RickAH, Costco
21 March 2012
  • Summary: I have purchased several of these Cuisinart coffee makers as well as the Keurig models. I purchase them from Costco, knowing that they will eventually have to be returned and Costco has such a great return policy. There seems to be a problem with the sizing of the internal water lines and they soon start to plug up which stops the pump from delivering the proper amount of water or none at all.
  • Pros: convenient when working properly.
  • Cons: problems with water delivery system. requires vinegar washouts. k-cups expensive not reliable.
