Summary: good thing there is a 3 year warranty, at this rate it will be replaced annually
Pros: large reservoir
Cons: unit failed, started pumping back into reservoir instead of brewing, seems to be the common problem. Cuisinart stated that replacement units on backorder & not sure when a replacement will be available.
Summary: I bought 2 of these machines, 1 for the office & 1 for home. The one for home which was used on soft water was the one that failed
Pros: 5 year warranty
Cons: having to use the warranty in less than a year with limited use, having to pay shipping to get it to Cuisinart, being told the replacement unit is on "backorder" & they have no idea on when my replacement will arrive
Summary: Timer is off and coffee sometimes will make a cup or not....depends on ??? I have tried the various methods of unplugging the machine and waiting to replug, cleaning the little filter trap, whatever was suggested. Then, may make one cup before quiting again. The machine sounds like it is working, but no coffee is made when the "Ready" sign comes on again...with no coffee in the cup. If I stay at it long enough, I may get a cup of coffee to come out.
Excerpt: I got this machine as a gift and it worked great for a little bit. I have had it for over a year now and it doesn't work. No matter how much I clean the machine I'm constantly getting a film inside the water tank and the water that comes out (if it even comes out) is pink. Now I am getting puddles of rust color water out of the bottom of the machine. I've also read quite a few other reviews on other websites with the same issue.
Summary: On my final call with Cuisinart, they admitted that they hear far more complaints about refurbished units. We are 3/3 for units that don't even last 6 months (with light use). I would strongly suggest you stay away from these.
Pros: Works as advertised... until it doesn't
Cons: Unit arrived leaking out the bottom. Cuisinart charged $30 to replace it with a unit that stopped working after a month. Cuisinart replaced that unit (for free, but only because we complained about having to pay again) with a third that lasted about 4 months before it died. Cuisinart will no longer replace dead units since the warranty has run out.
Pros: Great features, if it would pump. Died after about a month, you have to constantly remove and replace the tank to get it to pump.
Cons: This is a known issue, but Cusineart will not honor the warranty if purchased from Newegg. So 30 days is all you get, and at some point, it will most likely stop pumping. I bought mine as a gift for my wife, so the warranty was up well before I gave it to her. Now it stops pumping every day or so. I will never buy Cuisineart again, and probably will not but any other small appliance from Newegg. I have always had good luck with Newegg customer service, but this experi...
not working, tried 3 models , all defective - just cold water, no hot !
15 November 2013
Summary: Watch out, this item will not make hot water or hot coffee or hot tea, it produces only cold water. They didn't put that in manual and on the page, but yes, it's true - only cold water!!!!! After 3 replacement of this SS-700, I finally gave up. I have had Breville and Keurig which are still in working condition after two years, making coffees, but thins thing is good .... for nothing... Never worked, and I tried 3 different (same) models....
BAD Design, stay away - do your research on this coffee maker first
15 November 2013
Summary: I had this coffee maker just over 3 months when it started giving us problems. Then I did some research, have you ever wondered why a company has so many returns it can "refurbish" them and get them out to so many stores, web sites etc. This is one of them. I finally went out and bought a brand name K-cup coffee maker and have NEVER had an issue with it.
Newegg is not approved by Cuisinart to offer a warranty
Richard L., Newegg

Summary: Pump fails, stops making coffee. The relief system would rather pump the water back into the tank than make coffee. I think most of these machines are defective but for what they cost I expect more.
Pros: Works great while it lasts. comes with a 3 year warranty but anyone buying from newegg will find cuisinart will not honor it.
Cons: The warranty is not honored by Cuisinart when bought from Newegg. Newegg confirmed they only give a 30 day warranty. Buyer beware.
