Excerpt: I had to buy a replacement because my old one (same Model) was pushed against the counter backsplash for so many years that the cord snapped right where it enters the machine. They use oddly designed screws to keep fix-it-yourselfers like me from repairing it, so I just hoped that this unit was still being made. Happily it is. This unit makes very hot coffee, and the carafe KEEPS it hot for a good while.
Pros: Makes and keeps coffee HOT Looks nice with it's black and stainless design Very fairly priced
Excerpt: Should have paid attention to the poor reviews and not been swayed by the good ones, which probably were written after a few uses. Six months is how long it took for mine to do what apparently so many others have done- OVERFLOW!! Was this review helpful?
Pros: Great when it works.
Cons: Overflows are ridiculous and unacceptable for a company known for quality.
Excerpt: Keeps coffee hot for 2 - 3 hours and because it is in a carafe, the coffee doesn't burn. Holds 12 cups. Has a timer that lets us set the time in the morning to start brewing so all we do is fill it with coffee and water in the evening and push the auto start button. Voila, the coffee is ready when we go down in the morning.

Cons: Old one worked for 4 years. Perhaps we should have cleaned the system out over that time, but it finally wouldn't stay on when we or the automatic timer turned on the brewing element.
Excerpt: This is the third coffeemaker of this brand and model we have purchased, so I can endorse the quality of the unit. The only down side (which is the reason for replacement) is that the reservoir begins to deteriorate after years, and the coffeemaker may leak as a result, and leave rust-colored water on the surface of wherever it is sitting.
Pros: Thermal carafe keeps coffee hot without burning it. Fast brew cycle. Programming is easy.
Cons: Clock time - am v. pm can be hard to read without reading glasses or in low light. Watch out for reservoir deterioration after 5+ years. Carafe may begin to leak after 5+ years as well.
Summary: First carafe lasted more than a year but then lost its thermal properties. Despite negative reviews, I bought a replacement which stopped keeping coffee hot after just a couple of months. Correspondence with Cuisinart for warranty service resulted in a total run-around and eventually they stopped responding. I used to think of Cuisinart as a quality brand, but no longer.
Pros: Was good while it worked. Makes good coffee and keeps it hot. Until the vacuum seal breaks and then it doesn't keep the coffee hot.
Summary: Fearing that Cuisinart would cease manufacturing this model, and knowing that our coffee maker won't last forever, we have purchased two more so we don't have to try and find a replacement that works as well.
Pros: Makes great coffee and keeps it hot for hours without burning electricity or the coffee. My first one has lasted 7+ years so far brewing 1 - 2 pots per day. The beeper to announce that the coffee is done brewing has been sounding sad lately so maybe it is dying??
Cons: The design has tight tolerances---if you do not seat the coffee basket just right it will puke coffee all over your counter. Not sure this is really a con, but it is the only "problem" we've had and it took us a bit to realize why we were having problems. Now that we know, it has not been a problem since.
