  1. Great Coffee Maker - but with 2 Annoying Flaws

My wife and I are long time coffee aficionados. We want our coffee to be the best it can be. We've found that this coffee maker meets out needs. It not only makes great coffee, but doesn't destroy it with a warming element. A bit of an explanation: Coffee is a complex brew containing many compounds. After brewing as it sits - particularly at raised temperatures - it severely degrades and gets that burnt taste that I'm sure most of you are familiar with. Like many coffee... Read more

This carafe is the same as the one that came with the original coffee maker. It keeps the coffee hot all day and you don't have to worry about the coffee burning. I was very happy to see that I could get a replacement for my original. When I ordered it, the description made it seem that it may not come with the cap, but it did. I received the carafe in about a week, which was just fine. Read more or see product

The top is rather flimsy. Kind of like an old Mr. Coffee. Doesn't close tightly. Not as good as other Cuisinart products I own. Read more

Mine broke after several good years of use, so I really took a look at several other models. After all that time going from store to store, I purchased the same model. It still looks great, and keeps coffee warm all day, and sometimes up to the next morning! Great carafe. I'm keeping my original carafe for either 'on the go' to work or when I'm having a lot of people over and need more than one pot of coffee. Read more
