Summary: Makes good coffee but when you open the lid it looks like there has been an explosion. Coffee grounds all over the lid and "sprinkler" output is covered with back spray. Yes, we have filter in correctly and top closed. Constantly cleaning. Used it for thee weeks and got rid of it.
Summary: Written after the last two paragraphs: I looked into sending this for warranty repair. The coffee maker cost $31.95 with a "3 year" warranty. To get warranty service you must ship it back, at your expense (roughly $15.00), and you must enclose $10.00 to have it shipped back to you.
Summary: I bought this product in March. It died in July. Unfortunately I cannot return or get reimbursed do to the tiny window of that opportunity that Amazon allows you. My first time purchasing a Cuisinart product---And my Last!!! Sadly, Sheila MKE., WI.
Excerpt: This is the coffee maker I use when staying my my parent's house. We make coffee every morning for 2-4 people, depending on who is around in the morning. Typically we set up the grinds and water in the morning, just before we plan to consume the coffee with our breakfast.

Summary: My first thought when this arrived was that it looked cheap, but I wanted a simple machine and couldn't be bothered to send it back so I kept it. The carafe is poorly designed and so it is hard to pour without dribbling down the front and if you use the carafe to fill the reservoir like I do, it is...
Summary: Works great - when it works. I've been through 2 of them. The electrics burned out after 5 months. Warranty process so costly and onerous, it is cheaper to buy a new one. If youy're smart, a different brand. Cuisinart should be ashamed!
I was happy with this coffee maker -- until it caught fire

Summary: I was happy with this coffee maker -- until it caught fire. Doesn't matter how good a cup of coffee or how easy a coffeemaker is to use -- catching fire cancels all the good points! I'm going back to Mr. Coffee.
Summary: Three days prior to this post this coffee maker, which I own and is less than a year old, went up in smoke! The lower portion where the display and controls are housed shorted out. And, before someone asks, there was no water that got into the unit!
