Summary: I only like this coffee maker. The auto turn off is just after an hour - my past Cuisinart makers have been 2 hours. I also do not like that the stop brew does not always work in between brewing a pot and coffee drips onto the burner plate.
Excerpt: All of the functions are top notch and simple to understand. Even if your water is already filter, the replaceable charcoal filter in the coffeemaker helps produce a smooth pot of coffee.
Pros: All of the functions are top notch and simple to understand. Even if your water is already filter, the replaceable charcoal filter in the coffeemaker helps produce a smooth pot of coffee.
Cons: The gold filter for the coffee that this unit uses was not part of the refurbished unit (extra $10 you should consider in cost against the new unit.) The instructions inform you to run several pots of water thru the unit but we found that we had to flush unit 4 times before it flowed smoothly. Making sure to keep resevior very clean will also help avoid problems.
Summary: This is a great coffeemaker, makes very good coffee. Offers both mesh and paper filter use. Can make 1-12 cups, although I have not made fewer than 3 cups at a time, so I don't know the results of making just a cup or two. It is more compact than our prior coffeemaker, so it takes up less counter space. It also has a programmable auto shut-off which protects us from leaving the coffeemaker on all day while at work. I see two design flaws.
Summary: We have used this coffee maker for about 6 months. I like several of the features. It's easy to set the time for the clock and for the auto brew setting. I've used the auto brew several times and it works fine. We didn't think the coffee was hot enough on the medium setting for the plate warmer but it seems to keep it plenty hot using the highest setting. I really like the "bold brew" feature.
My take so far on the Cuisinart DCC-2650 coffeemaker
25 July 2014
Summary: I have now had the Cuisinart DCC-2650 coffeemaker long enough to make a few observations about it's performance: 1. I decided to take a chance on the DCC-2650 after doing a LOT of research on coffeemakers. Few coffeemakers came up "golden" in my survey. I was willing to spend a reasonably high price on a coffeemaker if I had found one that seemed to justify it's high cost, but even among the higher end coffeemakers there seemed to be an abundance of fairly serious gripes...
Summary: Makes good coffee. Have had this brand before. Wanted the red color. However, the markings on the red are a little hard to decipher. Also, when you lift the "lid" to get the coffee grounds out, there is moisture that leaks down the backside of the unit. Cuisinart should address this problem and also the "markings" on the red color. This is programmable and it works well.
Excerpt: very good coffee, but a Bunn is better at that. Bunn was not available in red. This coffee maker was my second choice but my last experience with it was very good.
Pros: programmable, hot plate settings, GOOD coffee.
Cons: Have used this model before, I bought this replacement for the red color. The red does make reading the "knob and button" areas a bit difficult. When you lift the back lid to add water, some moisture does drip down the back of the unit. Also, when you remove the coffee grounds.
