Summary: I purchased this product because of its compact size. I like the fact that coffee is ready in three minutes, however, I am unsure of the qualtiy of the end product. Still experimenting and hopeful that the cup of coffee that I am looking for will be produced.
Pros: Brews Quickly
Cons: Coffee Doesn't Stay Hot, Limited Features, Small Pot
Summary: We have had a Bunn BTX for four years and three months. Over that time, I have had to send the unit back to Bunn three times. Once for the replacement of the carafe; the seal didn't, well, seal and that made pouring coffee a bit of a challenge. The other two times, it was evidently a common problem as others have mentioned: leaking between the stainless steel reservoir and the upper chamber.
Summary: Very disappointing, unfortunately. We've had great cups of coffee brewed in diners, cafes & restaurants using Bunn Commercial makers. We have a friend who owns a Bunn and have enjoyed many cups brewed in his less-expensive Bunn model. We were excited when our son gave us the Bunn (NHBX-B) Model for Christmas and immediately brewed our first pot, we were disappointed in its weakness.
Summary: Great design and operation. We have had the Bunn Home Model for well over a decade with very few problems. When we upgraded to the first thermos style, the only problem we have had is that it leaks coffee all over the counter and anywhere else where you try to pour. With the new BTX-b model, I cannot find any reports about the leaking situation being solved, but I do see they decanter appears to have a longer spout.
Summary: I bought it because of all the people I know that absolutely love theirs. It makes coffee in less than three minutes and it is instantly hot. You do need to use more coffee in order for it to be the strength you normally enjoy. It also makes weird gurgling noises when it is heating up the fresh water. I expected more than I actually got.
