Summary: I love this machine and the reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that it does not have the grinder. It makes delicious shots beautiful crema and is reliable. I love the programmable feature where I can set it to make my coffee shots the same everytime. Great machine.
Summary: Really nice Espresso Machine. In spite of being refurbished, it arrived in "as good as new" condition. We've used it several times a day ever since it arrived and every time the coffee is perfect with rich crema and the right temperature. In case you decide to use it, the froth is really thick, too. This machine really knows how to make nice froth. We're super happy with it.
Summary: I had the machine for one day. It's on its way back to the seller. I gave it 2-stars. One for looks and one for performance. It looks really nice on the counter top but it does not perform like advertised. I admit I had high hopes after moving up from a Krups $98 combo coffee/espresso maker. (It was fine until the steam wand quit working) On the Breville, the "pressure gauge" did not function at all. The needle didn't budge!
Summary: This is a review about the quality of the espresso the machine makes, and not about the short or long term reliability of the machine, since I have only had it for about a month. I bought coffee beans from a starbuck coffee shop and asked the barista to grind the beans for an espresso maker. Decided not to buy a grinder (since reviews on grinders seem to indicate nothing but trouble). The first results I got were disappointing.
Summary: This is the second espresso maker I ordered from Amazon in the last two weeks. The first (DeLonghi EC155 Espresso) I had to return. That unit seemed contaminated and would produce a yellowish liquid no matter how many times I tried to flush the unit before making my first espresso. I then decided to buy something higher-end. Unfortunately, the unit I received, had a broken pressure gauge and am sending it back.
Summary: I cannot wait to get up in the morning since I got this machine. No lie. It takes up a good deal of space so if you are in a tight spot the pod style might be better for you. But this one looks totally cool if you have the room for it. I adore it.
Summary: I have had this machine for about 4 weeks and love it. It's easy to learn, is made of high quality parts, and looks beautiful on the counter. Be careful with grind fineness, as we had some problems when coffee ground at Starbucks with their machine on "espresso" setting. Once you find the right grind consistency, the results are delicious and consistent. The steamer wand works extremely well and is easy to maneuver with the 360 degree swivel arm.
Summary: After having a couple of low cost Krups 5 bar espresso machines Krups XP4030 Pump Espresso Machine, Black , one I wore out after a little more than a year, I decided to move up to a better system. After doing a lot of research and reading countless reviews, I decided that this Breville model was the best for the money. I even thought the extra $50 for the programming button was worth it, because I prefer to decide what a double shot or single shot is.
Long lost love, oh where have you been all my life?

Summary: LOVE this machine! I do not claim to be an espresso junkie or aficionado, but I am addicted to lattes and my morning habit was getting to be expensive so we bought this machine for Christmas. It's AWESOME! One of my main criteria, besides great espresso, was a frothing wand that would really do the job, and this one does. It texturizes the milk beautifully and creates delicious, creamy froth for my lattes and cappuccinos.
Summary: I get my espresso machine. I carefully read the instructions on setting it up. I make my first espresso. The pressure gauge is a bit vague on the front of the unit, but it clearly has a range marked "Optimum." All of the pictures in the instructions show the perfect espresso with the needle in the middle of Optimum range. However, my machine never got the needle close the to the bottom edge of the Optimum range, much less in the middle.
