Summary: I bought a amazon model warehouse model first. The water reservoir was shattered, there where huge dings and dents, and multiple scratches; this was hardly the "minor cosmetic damage" that was advertised. That went back and I bought a new one.
Summary: I bought this machine in January of 2009. The boiler recently sprang a leak. For the price, I don't think that 5 or so years is a pretty good durability record. I did descale it regularly as per manufacturer's instructions. Before the leak, the quality of the espresso it produced was hit or miss.
Summary: I don't really know how to write the review. To start with I returned it but it wasn't all bad really. It's got a great finish but it wasn't worth the money to me, for quality. Summary: We would never put another Breville product in our home. IF it does break there is absolute zero change of getting any level of customer service. Best of luck if you buy one.... You are on your own.
Summary: I love this machine and the reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is that it does not have the grinder. It makes delicious shots beautiful crema and is reliable. I love the programmable feature where I can set it to make my coffee shots the same everytime. Great machine.

Summary: I was very excited when I received my Breville BES820XL. I looks awsum and produced much better coffee than the Senseo which I was using. Soon the pump began to fail, and was making a lot of noise but no pressure.

Summary: Persistence pays off. Contacted Breville Corporate Headquarters and eventually connected with someone who took care of the problem. In fact, they had me wait a couple of extra days so they could send me the newest model at no charge.
