Summary: I know Keurig has much more selection but I have no plan to try them all and get caffeine poisoning. Tassimo has enough plain coffee choice for my need. I actually tried the Mr. Coffee Keurig brewer because it was on sale with 96 free k-cups but ended up keeping the Tassimo T20 and love it. Mr. Coffee goes to my office. I like the ability to brew Espresso and Latte with ease. Threw in two discs and enjoy a cup of Cappuccino!
Summary: Just got mine. Here is my assessment so far. Pros: 1. Prices have come way down in recent weeks (perhaps was overpriced before?). Cost of unit was very competitive to a similar Keurig. 2. Fast coffee at a good hot temperature 3. Easy to operate Cons: 1. A very poor selection of coffees, with most of the coffee names being the cheap terrible kind that you find in the grocery store in large cans.
Summary: Great little coffee maker. Its fast and the Basic T-disks are way less expensive then the equivalent k-cups. Plus toss in the ability to make real lattes cappuccinos and Hot Chocolate with real milk. Just fantastic.
Summary: Had the first machine for one hour because the bar-code reader was toast. Second one worked fine. But once Starbucks pulled out I switched to the K-cup variety. Machine works great, so long as the bar code reader works. The discs don't "explode" in any violent fasion, but they do break open occasionally leaving coffee grinds all over your machine and in your coffee.
Summary: Machine is good no real issues. Poor customer service though. I read the one from Trenton the guy getting black in hie coffee it could be the water itself anyways I see this one is cheaper than we paid but ours has a filter. The only thing I can say is the new coffee we bought the Americano wow! what a great flavour but it only dispenses 6oz. and it says it should dispense 11oz. called customer service and got stupid answers like just add more water.
Summary: I have had my tassimo for 2 years. I've had a few exploding discs, and after reading some of these reviews I will try people's recommendations. That is the only issue I have had with mine. I descale every so often, I take the water piercer out and wash it after so many brews. I love the variety of T Dsics, and although you can't get a wide variety in stores, you can order them online.
Summary: I received this brewer as a gift for Christmas last year (even though I really wanted a Keurig, lol). I'm glad I got this instead; couldn't be happier!!! I use this machine at least twice a day during the work week and up to 3 times per day on the weekend with not a single issue. The discs seem expensive on the surface, but the per unit cost compared to Starbucks, Timothy's, Second Cup . . .
Summary: Very satisfied with mine. Got it last December 2010 as a gift. Other than the de-scale light coming on occasionally (no idea how to descale it but it doesnt affect the performance that i can see), it has worked fine. Going on one year old now, and I use it every day. 2 thumbs up for Nabob Breakfast Blend. I'd recommend this unit to anyone. Especially if you're the only one who dirnks coffeee in the ouse and amaking a whole pot would be a waste.
Summary: My wife bought me a tassimo for Christmas 2010. I had always wanted one because a few friends had one and they worked great!!!! But they made a new modal(ours) and the first one lasted less then 2 months., The power button stopped working and there was rubber chunks in the coffee, and the lattes stopped frothing, and we cleaned it after every use!!!! we are now on our 6th or 7th in 9 months, and each and everyone has had the same issues or stopped all together!!!!
Summary: Had my machine for over 6 months. I don't use the filter in machine, opting for the filtered water I keep in the fridge. Love the fast coffee in my mug when on my way out the door to catch the train. I'm not a heavy coffee drinker so it's perfect. It can be expensive if you are. Nice for dinner parties or single people too. No filters, no major clean ups, no complaints. I give it a 4 because of the price of the coffee discs.
