coffee maker starts to brew then stops

I set the pot to brew and it stops and i turn it off and it brews alittle more then stops again. This coffee maker is not that old and I've cleaned it over and over to see it htat was the problem. My husband says he thinks the problem lie's within the vacumn port that pulls the water up through the basket into pot?
