B&D messed up a great product!
D from PA, Amazon

Summary: My old B&D programmable coffee make finally died. We loved it so thought we would get the same thing again. Unfortunately the display area on the new one is different and does not light up (it is a "digital display"). It is very hard to read because of glare and no light. Forget about just checking it for the time of day as you pass it. Why did they have to mess with a great product? Now....it's not so great.
Summary: This unit makes good coffee. It is simple, convenient to use, and does what it says it will do. Pros: Brews enough coffee for me and my wife to each have two large cups. Keeps the coffee warm for two hours after it is made. The "sneak a cup" feature while still brewiing works perfectly. It is easy to program the unit to start brewing automatically at a future time.
Summary: I got this coffee machine during a black Friday sale for extremely cheap so I've had it for a few months and use it daily. Prior to this I had a Kuerig but hated the cost of the cups and the refillable kind took just as long to make as a whole pot. Not to mention, I typically drink coffee throughout the day so one cup wasn't going to cut it. First off, let me address the issue people have with it leaking...
Summary: I was using the previous generation Black and Decker coffee maker for many years after reading Consumer Report: simple, no fuss, gets the job done. I decided to stick with the brand, hoping for the same quality. But this item is badly made: cheap, not fitting details and it LEAKS all over! DO NOT BUY! Rather spend this money on buying a coffee cup in a shop.
Summary: I ordered this coffee maker to replace my old one, same brand. I give it 4 stars instead of 5 because even though the well is much larger than other brands, the carafe still leaks when filling the machine. Programming is easy and reliable.
Summary: This is the worst coffee maker I've owned. The others have cracked, burned, and shattered, but this has the distinction of being the only maker that just stopped working. It started having problems 6 months after I bought it where it would turn on, but refused to brew. It started working for awhile, but towards the end, the on button refuses to do anything, even though you can sit there and press it 100+ times.
Summary: This coffeemaker is classic and easy to use. It can be programmed, which my husband and I love, and the coffee always comes hot and delicious. PLUS, it has a stopper so when you take the pot off while it is still brewing, it won't drip or spill. Great product for the cost.
