Summary: I am a spice merchant and professionally grind spices. At home I have had one of these for about 10 years amongst several others. It grinds finer than anything else I have used domestically and also better than some professional grinders I have used. There are some downsides though the lid is fiddly till you get used to it. The lead would be better coming out of the backside rather than underneath as you spend your life tucking the lead into the little niche for it.
Summary: I never write reviews as a rule but am so disappointed with this item, firstly as it has been endorsed by a well know chef James Martin and secondly because it is Wahl also normally are known for their good quality products. Not this time!. I purchased this item in 2012 but it was immediately put away as it was specifically to be used at our home abroad. I put a new plug on last week (the wattage is the same but a two pin plug was needed).
Summary: I can imagine that the high number of negative one star reviews combined with the even higher number of positive five star reviews, and much else in between, could cause a lot of confusion for the prospective buyer. I thought I'd chip in with my twopenny worth in the interest of objectivity. There are a number of reviewers who say that the grinder either won't work or is underpowered, but the positive experiences, including mine, would belie that.
Summary: This has to take the prize for the worst design of any household item I have ever seen. The "designer" has clearly never used a grinder himself (I assume it is a man, surely a woman would have more common sense) and has very possibly never been in a kitchen either. Had he been he might have understood that making a removable top with totally smooth, tapering sides was a truly stupid idea.
Summary: This device looks nice enough at a first glance but when inspected thoroughly you can really see how cheaply it has been designed and think it would have been done better even on a budget which it was clearly adhering to. The device works fine and I actually used it to blend some very rough tobacco and it did it perfectly so cannot fault the function of the device.
Summary: We brought one for ourselves which we loved. My Son - In - Law was so impressed with it also and used it every time he came over, so much so, we put one into his Christmas stocking this year so he was over the moon.
Summary: I use the Wahl ZX595 to grind seeds and it does the job superbly. For seeds I find holding the button for a count of five is just right - do it for a few seconds more for a finer result. The grinder is quite stylish and looks good on the counter top. As with all these products with a fixed blade it's not the easiest thing to clean, but neither is it too difficult.
Summary: What can I say?, it grinds beans, and very well indeed. The unit is small and compact, and is not at all intrucive amongs other kitchen gadgits. It is operated with a pulse power button the front, allowing you do decide just how fine or course you want to have your coffee beans. It has a see through lid, so that you can see the contense, and is very easy to clean it has a space on the base to store the mains cable, so that you can have the lead as long, or as short as...
