Summary: I can imagine that the high number of negative one star reviews combined with the even higher number of positive five star reviews, and much else in between, could cause a lot of confusion for the prospective buyer. I thought I'd chip in with my twopenny worth in the interest of objectivity.
Summary: We brought one for ourselves which we loved. My Son - In - Law was so impressed with it also and used it every time he came over, so much so, we put one into his Christmas stocking this year so he was over the moon.
Summary: Find it strange that some reviewers had problems with this item, always suspicious of reviewers that either praise to high heavens, or condemn to hell items, but when you look at their "other" reviews you find they haven't written any other reviews!!This is the prime indicator of "false" reviews!!
Summary: Possibly more adequate as a spice grinder, this item is not fit for purpose when it comes to coffee. My gripes with this item are fourfold: measly capacity; weak lid; difficult emptying and grind deterioration. It is simply a poor design, and I regret the purchase.
Summary: It does an okay job at grinding but has a serious design fault which is very frustrating for me. You can't wash any part of it except the lid, which when you do it retains water between the chrome part and the see through plastic part at the top.
Summary: I read some reviews that the grinder didn't last very long so was expecting to get a few months out of it at least but didn't expect it to break the first time it broke. The catch that locks the lid shut broke off the first time I closed it without excessive force.
Summary: pretty standard grinder - does the job. We use it for grinding spices - my wife cooks a lot of curries and finds it is good for getting them to the consistency that she likes. Only drawback is cleaning the machine as the grinding compartment does not lift out for cleaning.
Summary: This has to take the prize for the worst design of any household item I have ever seen. The "designer" has clearly never used a grinder himself (I assume it is a man, surely a woman would have more common sense) and has very possibly never been in a kitchen either.
