Summary: You wouldn't want to use this for a high-end espresso machine that demands the finest and most consistent of grinds. But if you can afford a high-end espresso machine, why are you looking at a cheap grinder?? I never had a problem with the button.
Pros: Price! It's CHEAP for a burr grinder. The grind is usually pretty consistent. I can get the grind fine enough for my mid-range espresso machine (which admittedly doesn't like an ultra-fine grind). It also does fine with coarser grinds for french press and drip.
Cons: 1. It's messy. After grinding I have found that unless I give the unit a good shake, it will spill excess grinds onto the countertop when I remove the container to access my grinds. 2. Grinds will static cling to the catch container, so it must be cleaned often. 3. The lid to the catch container ...
Summary: Big disappointment from the folks at Krups- I expected much better. Now it's RMA time. Hopefully, I'll get a better replacement or I'll buy something generic next time round.
Pros: Grinds all grades of coffee nicely indeed- especially the course grade I use for my vintage percolator. Very handsome looking unit- quite stylish. Has the look of a well made unit. Not too difficult to clean- plastic parts are designed to air dry.
Cons: Very fussy when it comes to operate. There are two safeties that prevent accidental usage- just what you'd expect these days. However, they are overly sensitive and you keep finding yourself pressing the power button and aligning all the parts until it finally comes on. After just three months of...
Summary: I bought this grinder, as I love my Krups coffee maker. I have had it now over a year and like the end product. However, it is loud and EXTREMELY MESSY. The static build up from the grinding process makes a messy machine even worse. I have coffee gro ...
Pros: a good buy....if you like Italian espresso grind its the best I have used simply because by virtue of design the oily beans necessary pass the grinder very nicely. The interna baffle is the nuts. Also does well with other grinds too.
Cons: none really if you have dealt with other bur mill grinders....Its pretty rugged....we drink alot of coffee around here every day and it chuggs along nicely.I waited a couple of months befor reporting
Summary: To the reviewer with the button problem - there are two safety switches that must connect before the button works. One is on the lid, the other is on the grind basket. Both have to be fully engaged before the grinder will work, and you do have to exert some pressure to make this happen.
Pros: Adjustable grind, burr grinder makes the best grind available, easy to clean,
Cons: Button on mine broke after 2+ years (otherwise still going strong!). It still works, but I have to press the switch behind the button using a fingertip, which is a bit awkward. I expected it to last a bit longer than that.
