Excerpt: This coffee grinder has a plastic piece on the bottom of the stainless steel bowl. After only a month or two of using it there were pieces breaking off this black plastic piece at the bottom of the bowl. I can barely use it anymore, and would never buy this coffee grinder again. I thought buying Kitchen Aid I was getting a good product, much to my dismay. Like I said, I would never buy it again.
Pros: Design, Easy to use, Innovative
Cons: plastic peice on bottom of bowl breaking apart
Excerpt: Remember in "Crocodile Dundee" when the punks pull a blade on Mick and his sheila? He says, scornfully, "Thats not a knife. THIS (he pulls a Bowie) is a knife." Well, THIS is a coffee grinder. Oddly, the quality and functionality of the KitchenAid costs about the same as one of them little spice grinders. I have had my original KitchenAid grinder for 15 years and it is still going strong. This one was a gift.

Summary: I bought this product to grind flax seeds. It is perfect for this task. My biggest concern was to get a grinder that was easy to clean. As you know, flax seeds leave an oily residue behind when they are ground. The grinding is done in a removable stainless steel cup with stainless steel blades. You can remove the cup from the base unit and fill it with soapy water for easy cleaning. The grinder will grind a half a cup of flax seeds in about 15 seconds.
Excerpt: I've had this grinder for about 9 months now. I use it almost every day, and it's still going strong! It works great. I like strong coffee, so it's great that it has a higher capacity than most other grinders I've used in the past. I can grind enough beans for a nice, strong pot of coffee in one shot! The only thing that I'm not crazy about is that some of the ground coffee gets stuck in the bottom, below the level of the blade.
Excerpt: I LOVE my Kitchenaid coffee grinder! It is the same great qulity, as all my other KitchenAid products, it does a great job! I like to grind my coffee to a very fine grind, but you can stop grinding, at any grind you like. Fresh ground coffee, brewed in my KitchenAid coffee pot, is wonderful! I love the quality of KitchenAid !
