Pros: Built sturdy... has a quality feel to it it is built like a mini food processor. It does what I want. I just needed something to grind my whole bean coffee to a usable state. This unit does not give you an option on the coarseness of the grind you pretty much eyeball it while chopping to tell if it is right for you.
Cons: First one was D.O.A I called newegg and they sent a new one right away no charge.
Excerpt: Bought this grinder in 2006 for my daughter. She took it to college with her. We use it because it doesn't make a mess. Until a couple of days ago it was running great and then it just stopped. I'm back to buy another one. We cold brew in the Summer so we use it a lot. The grind is perfect. You make your own course or fine grind and it is perfectly fine for espresso just don't fill the container to capacity for a very fine grind.
Excerpt: I bought this years ago in Seattle, to grind my coffee beans - about 2-4x every week. Writing to counter the other bad reviews. It's a handsome coffee grinder, reasonable noise level, light, easy to store. I love the measure lines on the inside. I only make 8 "cups" coffee in my french press for the two of us, so volume is not an issue. But as I'm learning more about coffee - I do notice now that the grinds are a bit uneven, which can affect the bitterness of the coffee.
Excerpt: I really don't know why there are negative reviews. I've had mine for over 6 years and it works perfectly every time. I like grinding my own beans and feel my coffee tastes fresher because of it. I don't like to use the ones in the stores as I feel you might get some of the previous beans that were used before in your bag. The only negative is that I like to grind about half the can or bag at a time and the container is fairly small, so it takes a little time.
Summary: It would look really nice next to my Cuisinart Coffee Maker if I was going to keep it.
Pros: Appearance, large cup
Cons: Cord storage awkward to unusable. Smoked plastic cover prevents good view of grind. Plastic cover impossible to clean by hand. Cup must be removed to empty contents without spilling. Grind is irregular mix of powder and chunks.
Summary: I got this blender from a store and at first wasn't sure if I want this. We are just two people in the house and this item seemed like a heavy duty item. I got it anyway and I am very happy that I did. It works great with small or large amount of coffee beans. In a few seconds you'll have fine grounded coffee. Very satisfied with my coffee grinder, and highly recommend it.
Excerpt: I've never had a problem with this grinder. It looks good with my Cuisinart coffee maker, as it shares the same design profile. It grinds the coffee appropriately for the filter, and I never have a problem with the taste of the brew. I clean the grinder bowl and the cover with my finger after each use, and have never had an issue with grinds flying all over the place.
