Sony is not what it used to be - this is a LEMON by design

phodographer, epinions.com
18 July 2010
  • Summary: Do not buy it. There is really not a single reason to own this thing, it has no redeeming qualities to match its faults.
  • Pros: Features on paper: Aux IN, CD, alarms, compactness
  • Cons: Features function: Poor volume, poor sound, poor controls

This Sony is a good value, and easy to live with

samwise514, epinions.com
15 March 2010
  • Summary: This is a good value, $40 gets you dual alarm, cd, large display, but no digital radio/volume controls, just poorly placed knobs.
  • Pros: Big display numbers, dual alarm, convenient cd player, adjustable brightness
  • Cons: Radio and volume dials are badly placed and not digital, no presetting of stations

User Unfriendly Clock Radio

jpneus, epinions.com
10 July 2009
  • Excerpt: This may be less expensive and may be Sony, but boy is it user unfriendly.
  • Pros: Very few. Large digits on the clock portion if visually impaired. CD.
  • Cons: No presets. Volume control nearly impossible to locate. Same with manual, old-fashioned tuner control. AVOID.

  • Summary: Do not consider, unless you're into self abuse. If the latter is the case this is the unit for you.
  • Pros: Large display, size, top loading CD, in-line jack for MP3 player, analog tuner, price
  • Cons: Alarm buzzer, sound quality, volume range, no headphone jack, volume and tuner knob location

70/80s retro clock.

30 May 2008
  • Summary: Unless you like the old tuner from the 70/80s radio and switch, spend a few more for digital and modern version.
  • Pros: has all the basic functions of a CD-clock radio
  • Cons: feel like 70/80ish radio

Some great features for the price, sound quality so-so

  • Pros: Dual alarms; MP3 player input; not too expensive
  • Cons: Sound quality; analog tuner is weak

LOVE IT!!!

Laura E Rosenau, Amazon
5 April 2014
  • Summary: We owned this model previously and used it for years to play music while going to sleep at night. When the cd player finally wore out, we wanted to replace it but found out it was discontinued. We finally found it for a reasonable price and immediately bought it. We are very happy with it. Another plus with it is that the lighted numbers on it are very large and easy to read at night from across the room.

Gerat Alarm Clock

Ray, Amazon
22 March 2014
  • Summary: I had the old version of this clock radio, whihc gave up the ghost after 18 years. This one is easier to use and superior in every way. Tough to beat Sony for alarm clocks.

Great product

Gail McLeod-Germain, Amazon
20 March 2014
  • Summary: We wanted an Clock Radio that played CDs instead of just a radio. This product has a large clear display and gives you 2 alarms with a choice of CD, RADIO or BUZZER for each alarm. The only disappointments were the fact that it does not have a battery back up like our other Sony alarm.
