Summary: It says a battery back up but it fails to tell you it only lasts for ten minutes. So if we have a snow storm and we loss power for days, like in the past. I will have to use my phone for an alarm. that creates another problem, making sure I can charge my phone.
Conclusion: I highly recommend this product to any one who enjoys or is addicted to radio listening at night and into the wee hours such as myself. The clarity of each and every channel is phenomenal, you almost can not distinguished AM from FM it is that clear.
Summary: This radio is easy to setup and sounds very good, but you cannot see the clock if you are not near it. The clock is fine if you have the radio next to you. I bought the radio for my bedroom. I always had a clock radio on my dresser and was always able to clearly read the time from anywhere in the room. I recently bought a $10.00 radio that certainly doesn't play as well as the Sangean, but does has a very clear easy readable clock.
Summary: Set it to wake to music, sometimes it does, most of the time just the alarm. If you finally get it to work and shut it off, because of vacation or time off, you have to unplug it, let the battery die down and then reset it. Then, maybe, it will work for a while. Not something I would buy again.

Conclusion: Performs as it should. I needed a connection for an earphone so I could listen at night without disturbing my wife. This is the only clock radio I could find with this feature. Small, compact, great night display, great presets and sleep functions.
Summary: Searched high and low for a clock radio that had everything we wanted and this fit the bill. A little more than we wanted to spend, but looked and looked for months and never found anything cheaper that was so full featured. Liked that it has an Audio In port which you can sort of see on the picture, but which I didn't find in any of the product specs.

Conclusion: I wanted a radio that I could pre-program stations and not have to fiddle with tuning. The Sangean RCR-5 is just the ticket. My husband did the initial set up and I programed all my favorite stations. Works great on FM but is spotty on AM but with a little turning it in a different direction it will work. I'm quite satisfied with this product.
Conclusion: I bought this for my sister as she was moving into her apartment, she loves it. She likes the radio on it, and for a speaker that has low wattage it has crisp vocals and nice clean soft bass. No Con's for this product. Worth every dollar, I would recommend this product and I'm even buying another for my moms office. Her old radio after 10 years broke and she loves this one.
