Summary: In my earlier review I said that the clock would not dim, but it does turn off completely which I do while sleeping and hit the light button if I need to view it during the night. This clock has been working wonderful since I purchased it in April 14, 2011. No issues or problems. Still loving it. Glad I purchased it.
Pros: Durable, Good Sound Quality, Great Reception, Lightweight, Long Battery Life
Summary: Item delivered on time, was as described. I have used this item in Germany and it worked well every time. Now I ordered it in the US and I made the same experience there. Again, this item meets my expectation very well.
Summary: Purchased this radio to replace my failing weather radio. The best thing I like about this radio is that it has four (4) alarms, two that wake by buzzer and two that wake by radio station or MP3. It has HWS - Humane Waking System that gradually increases in volume so that it does not wake you violently. Not sure why the other reviewer indicated it was too hard to program, unless he just fell off a turnip truck. Programming is not that difficult.
Summary: I read other reviews and decided that this was the clock I wanted. As soon as I plugged it in, the time set all by itself. The radio stations were easy to set within a few minutes. Stations come in excellent. It looks attractive on my night stand. The only negative is that the light does not dim low at all. It is way too bright. I have been positioning it facing away from the bed so it doesn't shine in my eyes while I'm sleeping.
Pros: Durable, Good Sound Quality, Great Reception, Lightweight
Summary: After looking for about 3 months, I finally found an "atomic" clock radio with digital tuning, day-of-week settings and 2 alarms (see below).I'm writing this because I appreciated being able to read the reviews of others when I was shopping for this item.I have only had the item for a few days, but it has met all my specifications so far. It has a nice display and the HWS (Humane Waking System) is great.
Summary: Returned the radio; it was extremely complicated to set the alarm (setting the day of the week was impossible & not mentioned in the manual); the atomic clock function did not work at all, a $10 travel alarm without an antenna picked up a strong signal in the same location;
Summary: I bought one of these and the analog clock died during set up. Returned it for another one which works and am very satisfied with the many features and sound quality for such a small unit. The analog clock on the new unit got stuck once (so far) and changing the time ahead/back got it going again. I'll certainly keep an eye on that through the warranty exchange/repair period. One small downside. The unit allows you to dim the display (great!
Summary: An update on my review from May. The antenna turned out to be irresistable to cats. It is a thin wire with small weight at the end that can be batted and chewed. The antenna is destroyed, and I don't see an easy way to replace it. Even if I were to replace it, the cats would find it again. So, I'm trying the Tivoli next, because the antenna is incorporated in a heavy duty power cord.
