Good solid build and core features, some stuff I won't use and a fussy touch sensitive lamp!
24 September 2014
Summary: I owned a Pure Siesta for over 3 years and loved it; that died & I wanted a combined lamp / alarm / DAB. Pure were my first choice. OK, as has been noted by a number of people the 'touch sensitive' light is, well, a bit hit & miss to be frank. No real problem turning on and off (it just needs a firm touch for maybe half a second - a light tap certainly doesn't work!) but it is far less frustrating to dim the light using the buttons.
Summary: I was somewhat sceptical as to whether sunrise alarms actually worked. it took me a few weeks to get used to it, but now it really does work - it's a very pleasant way to wake up in the morning as you slowly become aware of the gradually brightening light. DAB reception is occasionally a little sketchy, however I'm prepared to give that a by as it may well just be the reception in my area.
Fantastic daylight, DAB, sounds, colour - shame about the controls!

Summary: When you finally get the hang of the controls, this is an amazing alarm clock. The wake up experience is tranquil and stress free - no more sudden jolts out of a deep sleep. The gradual fade up of the light and then the sound coming in is a gentle way to wake up and the fade out light is a really lovely way to go to sleep.
Summary: Warning!! If you're the sort of person who plugs in first and reads the instructions later: When you first plug in and switch on 'Do not touch Twilight during this time, as touch sensitivity may be affected'. See p5 of the instructions. I'm pleased with this radio and definitely looking forward to waking up with the light next week. It feels a bit old fashioned if you're used to an ipad/iphone (basic display and so many buttons!
Summary: There are always compromises with combination products so I did not expect this to be perfect in every way. The light variations, different sound options and overall look make this a likeable, fun device. The alarms are easy to set and the buttons are easy to access to switch radio/lights on and change volume settings, even from your sleep. It is not the most sensitive device but hopefully that means it is robust and will last some time.
Summary: Some of the reviews on Amazon for the Pure Twilight are really talking rubbish and it makes me wonder if these people actually own the product. A few reviews talk about the light having a push down sensor or a pressure switch under the rim. This simply is not true. The light uses a touch sensor just like many touch lamps which does not require any physical movement of the glass shade.
Summary: What I use the product for: - Radio alarm (sunrise function not used) - Bedside light - Night light We've recently had our second child and I needed a dimmable light to enable me to see what I'm doing during night feeds. Our other clock radio was also driving me mad with the lack of reception, so this was a good solution. We've had the product for about two months and all of the above functions have worked perfectly.
Summary: I purchased this product as a replacement for an older sunrise lamp, that was past its best. It is very expensive so i expected much from the Pure Twilight. Sadly the first unit didn't work properly and had to be sent back, i believe this was due to the wire areal being damaged when packed in the factory. I must say that i was surprised the areal wasn't detachable, to reduce the chance of dammage. Given the design and packing dammage to the areal is a real possibility.
Summary: I purchased this product in the middle of winter after having a rough time waking up in the morning in the dark. I was also lacking a DAB radio so this product seemed like a good buy. It comes with lots of features from different light modes, sounds, radios etc. It also looks rather stylish and this may have been a contributing factor to my purchase.
Summary: First off I am very impressed by the Pure Twilight and wrestled with whether it should be a rating of four or five stars. It is a great gadget. I wanted a replacement to a separate Lumie body clock light/alarm clock and a SONY FM alarm clock radio. I originally purchased separately as I was unsure of the sun rise simulation.
