Nice features, bad control

babwas, Costco
24 March 2014
  • Summary: The lamp works well and everyone in the house loves the way it wakes you up and puts you to sleep. The downside is the buttons for controlling the clocks functions. I had to read the manual to figure out how the clock works because it is not intuitive. I have come home in the afternoon several times to find the wake up light still on because my wife and son (7) couldn't figure out how to shut it off. For the price it should be much more user friendly.
  • Pros: everyone loves the gradual light change.
  • Cons: difficult to operate.

  • Summary: This is cumbersome to handle so would not be good for younger or older people. It has a nice soft glow to light and is very easy to read the clock. The radio has very good sound as well and reception but the overall look is not very nice. The alarm light and bird sounds are just ok. I was looking forward to trying this and gave it plenty of time but was disappointed.

Not as good as the previous model.

  • Summary: I had the previous model on my other bedside table. This looks really similar in the photo, but is nothing like it. The screen is now black, and the plastic feels cheap, the light is not as even, and the bulb can be seen through the shell. It feels like a knockoff, for 90% of the price...

No power back-up, too expensive

RC, Amazon
19 November 2012
  • Summary: This wake-up light have no power failure back-up. If the power drop for a second, you loose everything and have to reprogram it. To get 15 minutes power back-up, you have to buy next model. Also dont have 2 alarms, no sunset simulation. Phillips make too many model to confuse the customer. To get a good one, you have to spend more money. Bottom line, it is too expensive.
