Summary: I have read a lot of customer and professional reviews on the Duo-I before purchase so I felt well informed on the unit. Once I received the duo-i my expectations were surpassed. I hope to clarify a few critical comments I have read online. First a shout out for Amazon Warehouse deals. Reluctantly I ordered a used/returned unit but due to the Amazon guarantee I felt that I had an way out if I didn't like the unit.
Does not work with iPhone 3gs and quality control is lacking.

Summary: Stay away. Poor quality control. In the past, I have been extremely pleased with Boston Acoustics products such as the Receptor radio and Receptor radio HD. My recent experience though, has left much to be desired. I bought my horizon duo-i several months ago from B and H Photo and much to my disapointment, when it arrived, it was defective. The radio worked fine, but the iPod playback sounded distorted no matter what size iPod was docked.
Summary: This product does not always work with my IPhone. I often get an error message on the phone when I connect it to the radio, however if I reboot the iphone it sometimes goes away. I have a cheap RCA radio in my bedroom that always works with the iphone. Additionally, when the iphone is docked I get cell signal noise through the speakers. I have been using the aux input successfully; no noise but no controls. The sound quality is superior for such a small unit.
Summary: This player had good sound for the radio, but the iPod (Touch3G) sounded all fuzzy. The most disappointing feature was that the clock lost between 10 and 20 minutes every 12 hours, so I had to set It 10 minutes ahead and set the alarms ahead too.
Summary: My unit arrived working fine, but after a week the AM reception stopped altogether. Sent the unit to BA and received a replacement. The replacement has an electronic hum at all volume levels, from 00 to 22 (haven't tried the volume over that level). Sent it back to BA TWICE and received no help whatsoever. Even received a snotty note from the tech that he tried 9 units and they all sounded like mine. If that is really true, the unit has a severe design defect!
Summary: I just bought this unit for a gift. I went to Mexico and gave the gift to my girlfriend, and after one or 2 days using the ipod, a Loud Humming Noise Came and went away. ------The Unit is Defective, but as the unit is in Mexico, now I can't bring it back and change it for a new one.
Summary: Let me start off by saying that this unit does NOT "support" the iPhone. The company clearly states that they have a new "iPhone supported" unit coming out this year. We plugged in an iPhone and got a message on the phone that said 'this unit is not supported'. So, I selected 'ipod' on the dial and started up the iPod feature on the phone and the music part worked.
Summary: Great sound but unit has a couple problems. There are a lot of things to like about the unit, especially the small size to sound quality ratio. It's better sound than Bose which is much more expensive. It has a few small problems. 1) It gets very hot but the company assured me in an email that it is not unsafe, and 2) it has a low level hum even when powered off, enough of a hum that is annoying to listen to when laying in bed when the unit is off.
Summary: I was looking to buy the Duo-i to use as an alarm clock with my iPhone. After trying it out at a local retailer I can confirm that the sound is fantastic, the build quality top notch and controls are very intuitive. Honestly this is a beautiful piece of audio hardware. Unfortunately it doesn't work with the iPhone. Upon docking my iPhone the sound was perfect for ~10 seconds then quickly becomes static-y and distorted.
Summary: This is a very impressive ipod dock and radio combination. The controls are very intuitive and give you a lot of flexibility (you can adjust the bass and the treble!). The sound is quite excellent considering it eminates from such a small package. I am using this devise as the main stereo system for my entire house. And yes, I can turn up the volume if needed. What sold me on this over ipod docks like the Bose was the fact that it comes with a radio.
