Summary: Was so happy to get a BOSE...then within a year the CD player reads unplayable and spits all CDs out. Unplug and it works hit and miss. Now doesn't work ever. Bose says send it back for $100 processing fee and they will DIAGNOSE it. WHAT??? I thought they had a good reputation and good follow-up service. Why did I pay 499.00? Piece of crap~very frustrating.
Summary: PRODUCT UPDATE #4: Received my "new" Wave System from Bose on 12/27/13. As of today (3/5/14) this is the FOURTH one being returned because of problems playing CDs. Customer Service rep informed me that the unit I was sent back in December was NOT A NEW ONE BUT A REFURBISHED UNIT!!! This time they swear they will be sending me a System III unit. What are the odds this one will still be working come the summer?
Summary: For $250-299 you can get the Sony LBT-ZT4: a shelf system that plays both CDs and DVDs; has a multi-disk CD changer; has a USB port as well as an IPOD dock; has the controls on the unit as well as on the remote; has a graphic equalizer; and has a more full, powerful bass response; all features the Bose lacks. What more can I say? The Bose is a nice table radio but a bad value at $499. At best, it's worth about $150.
Summary: I enjoyed my old Bose Radio /CD Player for five years and decided to "upgrade" to the better sound quality of the Wave System. I purchased a Wave Music System and CD Changer. Another reviewer said the CD player in these units is Dollar-store quality. That's being generous. The base Wave unit regularly "captures" CD's, often for several days, before deciding to eject the disc. Okay, I thought, just use the Changer. Wrong.
I still can't figure out what I spent my money on...

Summary: I've had this abomination for about a month now, and not a day goes by that I don't dread purchasing it. The highly-touted "sound" of this radio is no different from almost any 100-dollar off-the-shelf model. Everything about the unit, from the quiet-as-a-doormouse bass, the lack of any kind of sound settings (no freaking equilizer?!), the REQUIREMENT that the remote be used to operate the system (really, at least put an EJECT button on the thing..
Summary: I was so excited to get this new model but terribly disappointed when it arrived. I think that the sound on the old model was as good or better. And the lack of manual controls was a total deal breaker. All the comments about fumbling around for the remote or buying a second remote are true. Within two weeks I sold it on eBay. Since I wanted a bedside CD radio alarm, I replaced it with a Boston MicroSystem CD radio player.
Summary: This is an update to my first review of December 16, 2006. I have had this for 6 years or so, and just today I went to get this and move it out in the garage and still was kind of cursing it because it is just about useless. The problem comes with there being no controls on this unit. All the other plusses or minuses are secondary to the fact that this damn radio/cd is useless because you have always have or know where the remote is to operate it.
Summary: ATTENTION!!!!! I'm updating my review because Bose WILL BE REPAIRING for FREE a SECOND time. They were VERY accommodating and said they want us to be happy with their product. Hopefully, they've changed the mechanism in their new units and you will not have this problem. --- We were so excited to get our Bose; such great sound from such a little package! Unfortunately, the CD mechanism is dollar-store quality. It broke within a year.
Summary: What a disappointment. In the mornings, I like to listen to talk radio on AM. With this product, forget about it!!! The AM reception is a joke (seriously). The Bose techs give you a couple of ideas...1)rotate the entire unit until the reception improves or 2)purchase a Terk "Advantage" cordless antenna and rotate that until reception improves. Both were ineffective. Unacceptable. The second problem I have is their return policy.
