The Toshiba TG01 has the potential to be a great phone, but it is hobbled by Windows Mobile and the sluggish interface. All the right ingredients are there - large touchscreen, Wi-Fi, HSDPA and GPS - but something's wrong. Hopefully Microsoft develops a better interface soon or Toshiba uses Android, either way, something has to change. Read more

The Toshiba TG01 looks like it should take the fight to the smartphone big boys, unfortunately it's let down by some basic flaws. Shame, we were looking forward to seeing that Snapdragon at work. Not the iPhone killer we were hoping for. Read more

    • We've seen plenty of "iPhone killers" in our time, but that damned Apple handset just won't die. The Toshiba TG01 certainly rivals Apple's Messiah Mobile in the looks ...
    • ...unfortunately all that Snapdragon processor's power doesn't translate into decent perfomance. The Toshiba TG01 is slower than a snail wearing a ball and chain. Open...

Well, what a fantastic and stylish user friendly mobile phone we have here in the Toshiba TG01 mobile phone. With a built-in Qualcomm QSD8250 processor offering more speed, power and slicker performance users will love this new innovation in a mobile gadget. The TG01 really is a tool full of communications, social networking, movies, music and gaming all packed into the one device enabling users to enjoy life through their handset. Read more

The size and layout of the Toshiba TG01 take a bit of getting used to, and its good points include that huge screen, wafer thin profile and high functionality count. The trouble is, it's just not that easy to use, from the unresponsive touch screen to the jerky zoom bar and shallow UI skin that drops you into the fiddly Windows Mobile menus all too soon, it seems like a handset that's not quite finished. The slim and sleek TG01's hardware design breaks new ground, while the 4.1in. screen is great for media-rich activities. Unfortunately the user interface is eccentric, and battery life is very disappointing. Read more

  1. Toshiba TG01 Windows Phone, a delusion to be avoided.

My suggestion is avoid this product at all costs. The idea of a mobile phone working on a similar platform as a PC seemed a good idea. My Daughter’s boyfriend has an I-Phone (He writes software and understands these things). The “Apps” that he has loaded on his phone do amazing things, and I was intrigued. When my contract phone was due for replacement in January 2010 I went to the local shop to actually “see” (to hold and experience) the phones. Read more

I have had this phone for an average time period and i have to say it is the WORST phone i have EVER had. The Windows is great yes and its upgrade-able to 2011 because i have upgraded it to that but its battery life is appalling, honestly it doesn't last 6 hours for me, and when i charge it i have problems turning it on and in the end it manages to turn on with no battery.
