Summary: I bought this because I didn't want to spend a lot for my first smart phone. I have been able to adapt to devices like computers and tablets but have not kept up to date on cell phones. I have been told this phone is obsolete because it is almost 5 years old but I have really liked it in the two weeks I have had it. It does all I need it to do. That battery lasts 2 - 3 days, depending on use, and the sound is better than what I had before.
Excerpt: It's an okay phone. It lasted me a long time, but then the screen kinda stopped changing to landscape mode when I slid the keyboard out. At the time, it was one of the fastest phones and I loved it. It definitely hasn't aged well though.
Summary: This was an Awesome phone back in the day. I believe I purchased this in 2009, which was one of those "hottest phones, gotta have it, right now". It was great the first 3 years I owned it. Since 2012, it's been rebooting randomly and the screen sometimes fade in black. The battery life is pretty horrible now, at least 5 hours and that's if I don't even use it. I use the Navigation app a lot and the battery drains in 5 minutes without the charger.
Summary: I am a T-Mobile customer so I had no problems with this phone. Just put in my sim card and it worked. A lot better than paying 3x the amount for a similar phone. The battery life could be a little better but over all I am happy with it.
Summary: this was my first android. i love the phone but mine keeps randomly restarting. it takes forever to download apps. i go on the market and the only way for the app to be actually downloaded is if i stay on the app. otherwise it doesnt install. over all i give the mytouch 3g a 3 and a half.
Excerpt: This phone is a good starter phone, but lags behind most android devices. Most of the applications will work with this phone but many will not. My wife has a MyTouch 4G and there are many applications that I cannot download or cannot run because of the slow processor speed. The camera is below average (no flash). Overall, it's been decent. It's durable and call quality is good.
Pros: Android Operating System, Music Player, Durability
Summary: I really wanted to love this phone, but there were a few things that just didn't work right. I know that Google has no control over how HTC builds a phone, but this phone should have never been released with so little processing power. It was really slow to move between screens. Viewing a photo from the library took minutes! The Wi-Fi connection at my house would constantly be "forgotten", very frustrating. Otherwise, it was a pretty good phone.
Summary: phone works as stated, battery life is decent for a 3g phone. I love the android market that comes with the phone. OS works great for a smartphone, cant complain with my purchase. Track ball is a ok feature though i must say i have never used it. Overall is a good starting phone for someone new to smartphones.
