Summary: I really wanted this product to work as the specs seem to be a good contender against Samsung Galaxy S series. It has everything you can wish for a smartphone but the hardware has serious issues. The unit I receive keeps on getting unresponsive from sleep mode after about 20 to 30 minutes of sleep. Pressing the power button will not wake it up. Suggestions regarding pressing the Vol+ and Power button didn't help.
Great while it lasted. And Sony support is garbage.

Summary: So I chat with Sony Mobile support. They have no tips or idea what may of happened, just yep it's broken, call our support line.
Pros: Compact size for a 5" full HD display. Good camera. Well-built.
Cons: At the 10-month mark, LTE would go in and out. Then random overheating and hanging. Then it just decided to start powering itself off randomly. It only stays on if charging from wall power. Many others have reported this with the Z, ZL etc. Of course I formatted it, tried putting it back to Jellybean, then back to Kitkat, many hours later, same thing. Bad hardware on a Sony flagship model. Always in a case and well taken care of.
No Micro Sim Works in this phone at all do not buy defective.

Summary: Recieved the brand new phone only to find out the hard way that no micro sim inserted into the sim card slot works at all. I Get the message No Sim Card-Emergency calls only. My service provider tried every micro sim they had and none worked. I even tried my sisters micro sim.AV House is the seller by the way. Please do not buy anything from these people.
Refurbished isn't always garbage... only when not done properly

Summary: The phone didn't work properly straight from the package. It was obvious that this device wasn't tested since it was refurbished and you would think that would be taken care of prior. Would have been a good deal if not for that, but I thought this whole transaction was a waste of time for all involved and could have been avoided.
Summary: The Xperia ZL is a great piece of technology. Fast processor, excellent HD screen, reasonable battery life. Alas, for reasons unclear to me at present, the phone died within 60 days of purchase. When I say "died", please allow me to be more specific. Summary: Spending 35000 and need to carry charger along with you is useless. Though It have lots of option you cant use it continuously. Always looking at battery % is headache. Why people doing this by spending lot of money. Just ask the manufacturer to overcome this main defect. In this case you can carry a mini laptop which will last for continuous 6Hrs.
