Summary: Save yourself a headache. This model is buggy. Whether it was the Sony software, Kit.Kat or Google Play - pick your poison. This phone was a nightmare. The online forums went nuts about 2 days after my phone arrived, and I found out why quickly. Battery life sucked - lasting less than 4 hours on a full charge. It kept turning itself on/off every 15-20 seconds. Sony customer service tried, but couldn't come up with solution.
Summary: I bought a sony dock dk-32 with the phone and used it to charge the phone. after 3 months of using the dock the dock port on the phone came off when I undocked it. called sony for warranty. they said that since it's a physical damage, it's not covered by warranty. I haven't even dropped this phone or anything. I have been really careful with it. this is just due to repetitive docking and undocking everyday. so if you have this phone don't use the dock.
Summary: Do not buy: magnetic proprietary connector (used for charging) came off after 36 days. This appears to be a documented problem with Xperia phones (do a search on xda developer) which apparently Sony is blaming users for. Thankfully Amazon agreed to take this back. Thanks Amazon!!
Summary: It was a great phone but it lasted only a day and a half. Probably a lemon. Unfortunately the seller, Worldwide Distributor, and Amazon both denied my claim for a refund or a replacement based of the policies that the factory seal is broken and a claim must be made within 24 hours. What if i didn't open my package right away? How will I know if the phone is working if i don't break the seal and take it out of the box? So it's basically buy at your own risk.
Avoid WorldWide Distributors and this phone unless you want trouble.

Summary: I really really really want to like this device. When it worked, I very much enjoyed it. The main problem is that it was defective out of the box and the seller (WorldWide Distributors) refuses to take back any device that's been taken out of the box). To reproduce the fatal problem perform the following: 1. Power on the device 2. swipe to login 3. swipe down from the top 4. select quick settings 5. toggle wifi on or off 6.
Summary: I had great expectations for my first smart/ touchscreen phone. I was initially delighted with it especially its water resistance which was tested out by accident. However the screen cracked not by dropping it but by simply bending over in my jean pocket so I have serious concerns over the durability of the screen (and I keep finding new cracks growing daily for no reason).
Summary: I am a self-confessed Sony fan and have used many Sony products - Sony PDA's (in those day of personal digital assistants), Sony-Ericsson smartphones, Sony cameras, Sony net-books, and now a Sony ultrabook. So I did not hesitate to choose Sony Xperia Z1 compact phone, going as usual for smaller size. What did I find? Setting up the phone was hassle free. All hardware buttons worked well.
Summary: In theory, the phone should be a winner - high spec, good looks, and the latest android update as well. In practice, it is, but has a critical flaw / quality control issue with the case/water-proofing. So five stars for almost everything if you're never going to get the phone wet, brought down to one star if you want to use it as advertised. Read on for the details.
