Sony Xperia X1

Recombu
28 March 2014
  • Summary: "I find the Xperia very frustrating. The main problem is getting and keeping a signal. I don't know whether the receiver is poor quality or what but my phone (and I've had two after I complained about the first one) keeps losing the signal and often the only way to get it back is to switch off and...

Disappointed

Sleepless 'cuz of the Neighbors dog, Amazon
15 April 2010
  • Summary: I have owned Ericsson phones all the way back to the R380 World Phone. I absolutely love the P990i. Unfortunetly it is no longer available. (If someone knows where I can get a new one, please let me know). I purchased two of these Xperia phones for my wife and I and I am sadly disappointed.

defect, defect, defect

Tom Reyano, Phone Arena
7 November 2009
  • Excerpt: I can start with this: Don't have this device anymore, returned it after several issues:First: The famous crack. The quality of the plastic used in this phone is rubbish really. Got a crack after a few weeks on the side right next to the battery. Returned it to the store and got a new one.
  • Pros: Despite the quality, the hardware performance is good.
  • Cons: Build quality is horrific :(

  • Summary: I was really looking forward to buying this phone but when I did I was horridly dissapointed. It may have a lot of nifty functions but it miserably fails with the basics that a phone should have.

Save your money

Edward Newman, Amazon
30 June 2009
  • Summary: My Sony X1a continued to lock up and become unresponsive after one week. I returned it for repair and was told it had moisture damage and the warranty was voided .No one pays that much money for a phone and allow it to get wet.

Not a great phone

I. Kuo "cell freak", Amazon
19 May 2009
  • Summary: The phone is nothing special. No battery life on the screen; the volume is low and the interface of the key pad for phone call is just not user freindly. The phone will go off for no reason. I am very unhappy with this phone. I won't get it even if it is $200, and I paid for 700!

Great phone, but not a SMART phone.

PruGuy "Tech Fan", Amazon
10 May 2009
  • Summary: Always losing connection with bluetooth, or static when using bluetooth headset. Constantly losing connecting tethering using bluetooth. Activesync suddenly doesn't work and has errors without explanation. Low volume probably due to tiny speaker. Slow when switching between sliding modes.

Doesn't work on 3G

Amazon Customer, Amazon
22 January 2009
  • Summary: After hours of Internet research + calls to Sony-Ericsson support and T-Mobile support, I have to return it. T-Mobile said flatly that NO PHONE OTHER THAN THEIRS WOULD WORK ON THEIR 3G OUT OF THE BOX, due to the frequency 1700 that no other phone handles.
