List All 13 PricesDespite a slick design, the 8.1-megapixel camera in the W955a fell well short of expectations. The evolution of the cell-phone camera takes yet another leap forward with the Sony Ericsson W995a. Along with a Walkman-branded digital music player, the W995a includes an 8.1 MP camera, the highest resolution camera yet available on a phone. But the W995a is an unlocked phone, which means its $600 price tag goes unsubsidized by a carrier. Read more
Last year was not very successful for Sony Ericsson and the company suffered some significant loss, but it seems that wasn´t an obstacle for its progress, since it announced , the Idou, back at . Along with it, the manufacturer also showcased some other models, which seem to have remained in Idou’s shadow. One of those devices was the slider , which we saw only for a while. Read more
The Sony Ericsson W995 gets things right in a few key ways that its primary competitors miss. As an unlocked multimedia super-phone, the real competition for the Sony Ericsson W995 is Nokia's Nseries, and in terms of the Walkman music player with the Media Go software, the W995 proves itself a capable Walkman (to check out recent Sony Ericsson Walkman phones, ). Since it isn't a smartphone, Sony Ericsson can keep a clean menu design in a way that Nokia cannot. Read more

The W995 is the first Walkman with a 3.5mm audio jack and we didn't miss the proprietary FastPort connector one single bit. The handset marries the celebrated traits of the Walkman player and imaging features on the Cyber-shot even though the latter still falls a little short of our expectations. It's great as a feature phone, but the middling screen size makes it less than appealing as a media player or for frequent Web browsing. Read more
The Sony-Ericsson W995 is somewhat a cross between the phone manufacturer’s Cybershot series and Walkman series handsets. As such, it brings along a number of characteristics common to both. Read more

You'll probably know by now if you're a Sony Ericsson fan or not. The Sony Ericsson W995 suffers from all the same drawbacks as previous Walkman mobiles: it's walled off, and lacking the power and customisation of your standard smartphone. If that doesn't bother you though, what you'll find is one of the best multimedia phones on the market, and this time that includes picture taking. Read more

I have done a fair amount of research on this Sony W995a and have owned W series Sony phones for the last 8 years going back to the very early models. I have always enjoyed the walkman phones as a great sport phone even if i don't always use it as a primary phone. I can move my SIM and use it for biking, skiing, etc. My wife also enjoys the walkman phones as well. I really wanted to upgrade here to the W995a for Christmas. Read more
Love the phone for size and features. I'm not into the smart phone craze yet. I got the W995 one cos I liked my old W580, and I can use my old case, batteries and USB cable with the W995. Only complaints are simple things like text 'sort by date' arranges messages from yesterday as todays texts...no I haven't got the wrong time zone. A couple of text symbols show as gibberish... At the end of the day, a great camera does not make up for the fact that this phone is almost impossible to do anything quickly and efficiently on. I've almost thrown this phone out of anger multiple times, somebody I text will get the text after I hit 'send' before it shows up on my screen...All in all, save your money and go get something else. This is a really awesome phone! its perfect for those not wanting to use a touchscreen. wifi is good, camera is awesome, sound quality is very nice! the phone looks really cool, its very unique. some people have thought it was an actual camera when theyve seen mine. overall i"d give this phone 8/10. some cons are the screen is small compared to phones nowadays, but no biggy. the app store on it is very crappy, nothing worth downloading. Bought phone in HK while vacation. Phone was recently released when I bought it! Good call quality, decent media player (walkman), decent camera ONLY for day/closeup shots. External speaker is decent for music playback but sound is distorted once volume is increased. Sony FINALLY included a 3.5mm port for earphones instead of FORCING users to use their Fastport adapter which is ONE of the biggest problems of using Sony walkman phones! Read more

I began my mobile phone career with Nokia's and I was once the proud owner of a Nokia 3310. The novelty of being able to switch covers to give the phone a whole new look was just too hard to resist. As with all products, curiosity arises and I decided to try Sony Ericsson. I've had quite a few from this brand over the years and I have always been very pleased with the phones on the whole. You can only have two shortcuts on homescreen. I hate that. Otherwise, perfect. I love having an ordinary looking phone that does 90% of what the expensive looking phones do. Just add skype and it'ld be perfect. And true to SE tradition, the phone is SOLID. When it falls down, just pick it up and recouple. Very durable. Read more
