Excerpt: Primarily a media phone, the W705 is for those that don't ask too much in terms of the camera or email functionality. It'll impress people, thanks to its shiny good looks. Just don't offer to show them the iPlayer on it.
Summary: The Sony Ericsson W705 Walkman takes a good swing at replacing our MP3 players with its great sound reproduction, dedicated music-player keys, heaps of features and classy looks. But it's missing a standard 3.5mm headphone jack and its music transfer software gives us a nosebleed, so we may wait for...
Pros: Design is just the right side of bling; great sound quality; speedy Wi-Fi and HSPA connectivity; podcast support; FM radio.
Cons: Proprietary headphone jack; teeny-tiny Walkman button; dull, confusing music transfer software.
The Sony Ericsson W705 may not offer any innovative features, but it is a stylish and easy-to-use handset. It's also the first Walkman mobile phone to include Wi-Fi.

Summary: Sony Ericsson's latest Walkman mobile phone is a fine combination of design and features. It's the first Walkman phone to include Wi-Fi, and at this price it represents very good value for money.
Pros: Design, well-implemented controls and keypad, smooth slider, HSDPA capable, Wi-Fi, 4GB M2 card included
Cons: Slider does wiggle slightly when pressed, back cover creaks, incoming audio could be louder, no GPS
Excerpt: As usual Sony Ericsson is out with another smashing looking handset in the W705 Walkman Series handset. But all that glitters is not gold, at least not necessarily. So without further ado, here’s the W705 and my opinion on the same.
Conclusion: For their first Wi-Fi slider handset the W705 is a good inclusion in the arsenal of Sony Ericsson Walkman phones. There’s a decent enough battery life too, with 4 hours of talking or 350 hours of standby which is reasonable for any phone.
Pros: Walkman phone with Wi-Fi, good all round music phone
Excerpt: If we weren’t already spoiled for choice with the numerous new handsets on the market, now there’s another one to consider parting with your hard-earned money for. The Sony Ericsson W705 Walkman phone features, well a little bit of everything to be honest.
Sony Ericsson W705: Musik-Handy mit 3,2-Megapixel-Kamera
29 July 2009
