If you're a mobile phone with a penchant for playing music, then comparisons with the iPhone are inevitable. But Apple's device isn't on everyone's wish list, and Sony Ericsson has a broad range of music mobiles to choose from, all stamped with the Walkman brand. The W705 is one such phone. This 3G handset is a stylish 'slider' model, with a 2.4in screen. Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity feature, as does DLNA compliancy. Read more
Conclusion A very strong music phone at a more reasonable price, the W705a is a good all around phone for those who want a Walkman phone but don’t want to sign a 2-year contract or spend $599 list for the W995a. The phone has most of the bells and whistles of a high-end Walkman phone including Walkman Player 3.0, FM Radio, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth with A2DP, 120MB internal memory and a Memory Stick Micro card slot. Sony Ericsson has got the stylish, sophisticated music phone look off pat, and its smart W705 slider has plenty of appeal. It has a good, solid selection of attractive features, with Wi-Fi connectivity and its fine music player particular highlights. It’s no do-it-all phone, though. The camera is lame and if you pine for GPS, you'll have to go for the Vodafone-only W715. Read more
A s usual Sony Ericsson is out with another smashing looking handset in the W705 Walkman Series handset. But all that glitters is not gold, at least not necessarily. So without further ado, here’s the W705 and my opinion on the same. Form Factor It’s a well crafted handset, that’s the first thing I thought when I laid eyes on it. The 2.4-inch display sports a 240 x 320 pixel resolution with 256k colors. Read more
The Sony Ericsson W705 Walkman takes a good swing at replacing our MP3 players with its great sound reproduction, dedicated music-player keys, heaps of features and classy looks. But it's missing a standard 3.5mm headphone jack and its music transfer software gives us a nosebleed, so we may wait for the W995 -- if it ever comes Read more

The Sony Ericsson W705 is one hot piece musical equipment but the with the added bonus of high speed broadband internet access as well as many many more amazing features and functions to match. It will keep any user amused, occupied and certainly entertained endlessly with which ever feature is chosen to be used. Read more
The Sony Ericsson W705 is a comfortable, well-built and easy to use phone, though it does suffer from that awful headset connector. However, by adding BBC's iPlayer and Wi-Fi to round out its features nicely, Sony has made the W705 an attractive option. Read more

Had this phone for 6 months and was working fine for this time. Then just the other day, got an error finding my usual 2G network (Rogers). A couple of days later, my w705 would fail to start at all. Getting repaired under warranty and don't know if they will fix the root cause of this issue. Not sure if it is a firmware or hardware problem. Take my advice and find another phone if you don't want trouble! Read more
