P990i Nice phone overall but takes getting use to

Kenneth W. Villagomez "daman", Amazon

  • Summary: I have had this phone for about 1 month now and it is a great looking phone that screams out (im expensive) however it is a little bulky. -GOODS- 0 I like the business card scanner, it scans business cards and inputs all the info on your contact list, however it does not always transfer all the info correctly. 0 The 2mg pic camera is a good alternate camera that takes descent pics.

good but bad too!

  • Excerpt: after using this fone for some months, i'd say it comes with a couple of upgrades but also with lots of defects. it supports very few media formats and the speakers really really suck. for all the hi tech it supports it should have a better processor and more ram cause it gets way too slow sometimes. the battery discharges real quick. i think the front camera should also support image and video capture.

Get to know it and all will be well

Adam Eberbach, Amazon

  • Summary: Pros: - quality camera - it is a comfortable device to hold against your face and talk with, screen is slightly recessed so it does not contact your face and you do not need to continually clean it. Fundamentally it is a good phone. - Flip can be removed if you want a candy bar-style device with QWERTY kb - good accessories bundled including charge/sync dock Cons: - no standard 3.5mm headphone jack - uses proprietary expensive, low capacity Memory Sticks :-( - OS and UI...

  • Excerpt: I've been waiting for this 4 ages but damn its ugly, and what have they done to that lovely wide screen?? replaced it with a keyboard!! who uses the that? And they've gone back to the p900 keys too, damn you sony-ericsson. Glad its 3g though and the camera's better but I think I'll have to wait until they give it a facelift.

Its similar to a windows mobile phone. It comes with touchscreen feature which is vary useful. We dont have to type the words any more now, just write it on the screen and phone will recognize the word !!!! isnt it a great feature?

  • Excerpt: I have been using this phone for over two years. Its a rather bulky phone but as to usability and features I would definitely give it an 8. I like that its touch screen and i like that it has predictive text as that really makes texting a lot easier. The phone also has a very good camera. If you like taking pictures then this phone has it. Play with the settings until you find which one really works for you. Thats what I did.
  • Pros: touch screen, camera, good battery talk time
  • Cons: bulky, texting on this phone takes getting used to, camera not for night use

  • Excerpt: The Sony Ericsson P990i is an all-in-one mobile phone. You do not have to sacrifice your passion for style in having a high-end cellphone with Sony Ericsson's P990i. You can use the keypad, the virtual keyboard of the stylus for hand-writing recognition. The phone gives you a feature of common Microsoft Office applications like MS Word and MS Excel. It is also 3G capable and has a 2.0 mega pixel cybershot camera with autofocus.

Quick Review Soner P990i

17 November 2008
  • Excerpt: I personally had the opportunity to try this gadget about a year ago borrowing from my friend. The fisrt impression are, rigid, not a stylish phone, quite big (especially for a woman with relatively small hands. Yet, Sony Ericsson P990 is a fully loaded device, including support for UMTS-3G networks and wireless connectivity (802.11b compatible). The Sony Ericsson P990 also supports bands for GSM 900/1800/1900MHz, where 3G networks are not available.
  • Pros: Fully loaded device
  • Cons: Big, not stylish
