Review Summary

The Sony Ericsson K800i is a candy-bar, 3.2-megapixel camera phone. It has been highly praised by critics for its impressive performance in all aspects. Its main features include the high-resolution camera, multimedia capabilites and tons of business-friendly tools. Apart from all the basic features users would expect, the phone also boasts high-end options like full Bluetooth connectivity, an infrared port and USB cable support, email, voice dialing and streaming video among many others. The camera comes with the powerful Xenon flash and allows users to take full advantage of the 3 megapixels using four resolutions and a host of other options like image stabilization, spot metering and macro settings. The music player lets users organize their music and also provides settings like shuffle and loop, stereo widening and an equalizer.

This phone seems to have performed brilliantly in most critical tests, including those at CNET labs. CNET say that the picture quality was outstanding, with the images being sharp and bright with well-defined objects and effects. While most other reviews agree with this, everyone has minor complaints about the video quality because of clips looking grainy and unimpressive. The new BestPic burst mode has been very successful with most critics, which snaps at the rate of 9 frames per second and then allows users to painlessly blog the pictures. Call quality was generally satisfactory with very good clarity and minimal interference. Although signal reception and volume could've been better, call performance seems quite solid. Battery life is also very impressive with a standby time of 14 days and oVer 7 hours of talktime. With a boatload of so many outstanding features and highly respectable performance, this phone is highly recommended to all users.
