The G900 is built with touch-screen screen display that allows finger-friendly as well as stylus navigations for all the functions. It has 2.4” TFT touch-screen delivering 256K colors with 240 x 320 pixels and 166dpi. In addition, it features push e-mail allowing user to access e-mail in an instance and receive new e-mail as it arrived. Furthermore, its screen also supports handwriting recognition allowing text input using stylus on touch-screen. There is an integrated 5 megapixel camera with screen viewfinder, dedicated menus and direct interaction with in-phone imaging and messaging features. Moreover, user can subscribe to RSS feeds on G900 from selected web sites and blogs to receive instant content. With X-Pict Story, user enables to create slideshows together with sound and transitions in the phone. User enables to connect the phone to the Wi-Fi connectivity for fast internet. The phone is also blog-friendly as it allows user to upload text and photos into user’s blog. With 3G support, user enables to access to the internet and also make video calls as well as have audio and video streaming, Internet surfing, multimedia messaging and email on the go. It uses Symbian™ OS as its operating system. It also allows user to set alarm clock and tune into FM radio station. In terms of its specifications, it supports 2G including GSM 900, 1800 and 1900; and UMTS 2100 3G networks. It has 2.4” TFT resistive touch-screen display that delivers 256,000 colors. It also features speakerphone. It features unlimited entries and fields for phonebook and call records. It is built-in with 160 MB internal storage and lets user to expand the data up to 8GB via Memory Stick Micro (M2). For data, it supports Class 10 GPPRS, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g, Bluetooth v2.0 with A2DP and USB 2.0. It is integrated with 5 megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash. It also features image stabilization and touch focus. There is another camera in-front. It uses standard Li-Ion 950 mAh battery that holds up to 380 hours stand-by time. It measures 106 x 49 x 13 mm in dimension and weighs 99 g. It is available in Dark red and Dark Brown color models.

Despite having only one loudspeaker onboard, the G900’s ring tones are pretty loud, actually above the market’s average volume level, being in line with the Sony Ericsson P1i, so it is very hard to miss a call with this phone in your pocket. The Sony Ericsson G900 doesn't score as high as the G700 on ergonomics - the memory card slot location and the absence of the two context keys tip the scales in favor of the G700. Yet, it still allows one-handed operation with almost no need for stylus.
