  • Summary: The Sony Ericsson Aino's luscious display and multimedia offerings make it one of the better unlocked phones we've seen this year.
  • Pros: The Sony Ericsson Aino has a beautiful display, an intuitive interface, great multimedia features, Remote Play compatibility, Wi-Fi, GPS with Google Maps and geotagging, and good call quality. We also like that it comes with a desktop charging dock plus a stereo Bluetooth headset.
  • Cons: The Sony Ericsson Aino's touch-screen interface is limited to the media browser, it has no 3.5mm headset jack, and the navigation keys are a little small. Some may find the price tag a little steep.

Sony Ericsson Aino Mobile Handset

Tech2
19 May 2010
  • Excerpt: If you’re wondering what the name Aino (no apparent model number) means, your guess is as good as mine. It means different thing in different languages. In Finnish it can be a person’s name that means ‘The Only One’, in Japanese it’s the native name of ‘Man’ and a race of people that came before the earliest Japanese settlers. The handset is obviously neither.

Bad Name, Good Gadget

AskMen.com
4 August 2009
  • Summary: There’s a whole lot going on at Sony Ericsson these days. New sliders, fabulous cameras, phones with fancy names, and even, finally, a Walkman that’s worth buying. As cell phone manufacturers fight to give their products the edge by packing more and more features into smaller and smaller cases, Sony Ericsson takes the cell phone and plugs it into the home theater setup -- provided your home theater includes a PS3.

Sony Ericsson U10i Aino

Pocket Lint
2 November 2009
  • Conclusion: The Sony Ericsson Aino offers features galore, but fails to wrap them into a package that really wows. There is a lot on offer here, but you feel like you have to work for it at times, finding the best route to get to the content you want. The link to the PS3 is a nice addition, but doesn't feel like a reason to buy the phone. The same can be said for the 8-megapixel camera offering.
  • Pros: Build and hardware design, BBC iPlayer, PS3 link, DNLA certified, dock and MH100 Bluetooth headphone adapter
  • Cons: Operating system looking dated, lacks customisation and app options that rivals offer, battery life, 8MP camera flawed
