Sanyo SCP-2700 Review

19 May 2009
  • Conclusion: Considering the economy, an inexpensive barebones phone that will help keep your kids happy and your wallet light has to be considered. But even for the price, you can do better – Sprint offers other QWERTY phones with EV-DO and video for free, such as the Samsung Rant.
  • Pros: Inexpensive QWERTY messaging phone; lightweight; easy-to-read screen; dedicated emoticon menu button
  • Cons: Hard to see number key and punctuation icons; no threaded messaging; slow Web connections; no music player

  • Excerpt: Introduction Long is the rumor that Sanyo was bringing a QWERTY device to Sprint. Be it smartphone or featurephone, we’ve heard rumblings since at least 2006. Well 2009 finally sees the rumor come to fruition, albeit in a slightly lower class fashion.
  • Pros: Good price, Better than it feels keyboard
  • Cons: Non-compelling, Build quality is suspect, Design limits the audience
