Summary: I have recommended this phone to a number of my daughter's friends. The phone plan is pretty easy to set up and the GPS feature gives me a bit of peace of mind as I can know where she is when I can't be present. Pro: It's inexpensive, cool color and design, easy to use and easy to program/pre-pay.
Excerpt: My Katana II provided me with two and a half years of good voice and text service. I tried using the web browser for 1 month, but that was painful. Pros: Voice quality. Battery. Held a charge well and never needed to be replaced. Construction. Felt solid with a good sized hinge.
Summary: This is a great phone for kids. It has good parental controls. A great phone for kids that barely use it to kids that are frequent talkers or texters. Not just for kids either. Has everything those monthly phones have. Also great camera.
Excerpt: So, I was with another carrier and decided to change due to coverage issues. I don't really like too many bells and whistles. I wanted a phone that allowed me to text easily and can make phone calls. So, I tested Sprint and found that the Katana II seemed to be what I was looking for.
Excerpt: Great phone. This phone is awesome. Pros: battery life, clam shell very durable, seems to be a all around good phone. And believe me I had my share of phones. Cons: keypad does not light up so if your a big texting person I recommend not getting this phone. Get the rumor or sumthn.
Excerpt: I bought this because I loved my original Katana. That was my favorite phone. When I got this one, I was highly disappointed. The texting is slow. I text fast. Many times, I have pushed the send button and closed the phone and waited about 5 to 10 seconds for it to finally say "sending message".

Excerpt: I've had the phone for about 2 months, and can say that I enjoy it's functionality, and the added features over my Sanyo 200 (obviously). That said, I do have a few complaints... --the battery doesn't last that long unless the main screen is dimmed all the time.
Excerpt: I'll give the SCP-6650 Katana II 3.5 bars. Call quality is just OK but this could be the fault of Sprint. I got lots of clicking and high-pitched noises during a call. I left Verizon for Sprint just because I like Sanyo phones.
