Samsung Transform (Sprint)

PC Magazine
15 December 2010
  • Conclusion: The Samsung Transform features Sprint's nifty new ID interface, but don't expect the performance of a high-end Android phone here.
  • Pros: Punchy voice quality. Sublime QWERTY keyboard. Useful Sprint ID customizations.
  • Cons: Somewhat sluggish. Short battery life. Heavy. Poor voice dialing.

Samsung Transform

MobileTechReview.com
18 October 2010
  • Conclusion: In the end, we like the Samsung Transform's hardware and basic Android 2.1 bundle, but Sprint ID brings it down. Sprint ID overwhelms this phone and the result is a slow and buggy device. For $149 with contract after a $100 rebate, we'd like to see a little more improvement over the $99 Samsung Intercept as well-- the hardware is solid low to mid-range but $149 puts it too close to high end phones like the HTC EVO 4G .
  • Pros: Decent hardware keyboard, solid build.
  • Cons: Sluggish, made worse by Sprint ID packs that bog down the phone.

Samsung Transform Review

LAPTOP Magazine
15 October 2010
  • Summary: We like the idea behind the Transform--a smaller, less expensive Epic 4G with an interface you can easily personalize with apps. However, the Sprint ID packs take longer to download than we'd like, and then there's additional work involved. Plus, Sprint ID slowed down overall performance.
  • Pros: Comfortable QWERTY keyboard, Good call quality, Front-facing camera, Sprint ID packs for personalization
  • Cons: Takes a while to download ID packs, Sluggish performance with Sprint ID, Low screen resolution, Pricey for the specs
